The CEO and his cronies don't understand that people work for more than money. They think all people come into work just to do what is required to get money or, if there is ambition, to rise through the ranks and make more money or have ideas that make more money.

However, there are people, especially in projects like this, that are also there because they believe in something. Believe that they can help creating something special that helps people. Unity has it's dominance among other things because it's an easy to use and easy to learn tool that enables people to create games that would've otherwise had trouble getting into development.

People with passion wanted to work on a great project only to see how the vision was corrupted and turned into a monster.

Like, the regular employee isn't excited about shit changes either.

Yeah. it was just pure lazyness on my part. I had Plex setup and all and didn't want to bother with something new.

Also, that he ruffles her hair after the accusation. This is the last straw. I already was very shakey with all the restrictions that were piling up, but this is just one thing too much. Cancelling my subscription and installing jellyfin.

I like to use it in bed. It's a luxury rather than a need for sure, but it's nice to play before bed or when I wake early and have some time.

Heck, forget rare items, I even hoard stuff thst isn't rare. The only thing I use most of the time are things that cure ailments, healkng stuff and revive pots when needed.

But I also have the tendency to overlvel so I don't need much else. Why use strategy when raw firepower does the job?

And yet, after three months you still think about it.

I do look on Reddit sometimes, there are niche communities that don't exist in that form in the fediverse and it would be quite hard to just ignore the existence of that site, especially when wanting to look up certain information. I did successfully stop participating though.

I am thinking about my darling Arknights that I like to play so much that I have it installed on three devices, but that would be 3 downloads just for me and assuming that I never get new devices where I install Arknights once again.

Takes a while to make a game. If I had to start right now, I would not pick the product where I wouldn't be sure where it stands in 2-3 years.

What cracks me up the most is that Jack already had a Twitter clone in the works, ready to be released once Musk burns down the old plattform and people wish for Twitter but without Musk back.

The US is also drier. The US was very young back then and people didn't necessarily think of the united country as theirs, rather than their state than today. People still think in states, but universally also see the US as their country.

A DC game with the system would be interesting. Not necessarily Batman, but on the street level of Batman. You start with a bunch of known villains and random thugs and as you progress and take out the known fixed villains, you get to see the progress of your own rogues gallery. That would be amazing. You see a villain at the end of the game and know their origin story, which you may have been part of, you know where they earned scars, where they got equipment and what drives them.

You know that's not Evil McDouchebag that someone directly wrote. That's the Evil McDouchebag that naturally occured and was forged in your play through.

(I specifically mention DC because WB has the licence, so what's keeping them)

Just saw that Monolith is actually working on a Wonder Woman game. Not quite street level, but otherwise I kinda might get my wish.
