  • Agreed, left and right politics are a lot more centre leaning here in NZ than in other countries (it seems) and I like that about it. Either extreme is bad for any society because they tend to get a lot alike the further away they get from each other. The fact is that it's becoming harder and harder avoid overseas influences though and more extreme narratives pop up all the time, on both sides. I hope we manage to stay away from extremism for as long as possible.

  • Was an on/off service technician/engineer for the last 20 years and can confirm. Many times I'd get a fault call just to arrive, pull out my screw driver and the issue simply resolves itself. It's as if it knows things are getting serious and it's afraid to be taken apart.

  • Let facts and evidence drive the conclusion to this. Let the alleged victims sue his ass and, if he's guilt, he'll rot. But don't come to your own conclusions as if you knew all the facts. You just don't like the guy, that's it.

  • So if you're driving a car and the steering wheel is on the left side of it, you are NOT driving on the left?

You're arguing semantics here. You did understand my point and is spinning it your way to try and sound smart.

As the legend Michael Jordan would say: "stop it, get some help"

  • Are you seriously discarding all those underdeveloped and developing countries which will not "hit the target" by 2050? If countries with millions of people they can't even feed properly need coal or gas to simply keep the lights on, there will be a market and governments will look the other way while exporting hydrocarbons. It is what it is. Also, cobalt mining, look it up. Tragic stuff.

  • Yes, agreed, they deserve what's coming for them but the "hyperbolisation" (as you called it) it's still wrong. They still have 2 other doctors there and I'm sure some other religious nut case will turn up to fulfil that position. Leaving them to their "hopes and prayers" is still as cruel as what these nut jobs wish upon the misfits. My take is that we can't take the same exact atitude towards them otherwise we are just proving them right. "An eye for an eye" rings a bell, probably biblical too.
