  • Why need to boil it? Is the tap water that bad otherwise?

  • Milk used to be sold like this in Czechoslovakia too. Not sure about other Eastern Bloc countries.

  • I don't even think most of these would hold up in court unless they add "r/" in front of them. Reddit reserves the non-exclusive right to use user content however they want, and I don't think this includes making user-submitted phrases their trademarks. I haven't read the ToS though so another clause might reserve this right too. There might be a claim to words like "subreddit", "r/" and "RPAN" and derivatives because they are based off the "Reddit" trademark.

  • In this implementation, the turning radius is also atrocious, to the point where most crossroads would become complicated multipoint maneuvers. The speedometer would be wrong too (unless switched to km/h to compensate for the ~1.6x factor) but going above half the speed limit is a death wish anyway.

  • Based on search-by-image functionality, there are lots of similar churches but I haven't found an exact match. The shrub location is weird and churches of this size don't usually have those little spikes. Most have round wooden doors and more windows, too.

I think the author found an outline of a MIG-25, pasted it on top of some scenery and then asked Stable Diffusion to maximize "church", "professional photograph" etc. without changing pixels above a threshold.

  • And below retirement age, too! Finally someone who won't just want to secure a cozy last few few years for their elderly rich friends.

  • Almost everyone was shooting on film in 1991, as digital cameras were usualy NTSC resolution or 1024p and very expensive. And B/W film was always cheaper than color but both were quite affordable by the 1990s.

  • color printed newspapers would catalog their back issues in black and white

Why? It's not expensive to set one copy aside and keep 365 of them a year into some cold dry storage, right?

  • The bot could link to the thumbnail using image syntax !()[] and add the title, channel, view count & duration; Piped even supports DeArrow for clickbait reduction. However, this would either cost privacy by auto-loading content from Google or add even more load on the "default" piped.video instance. Many people would also hate it even more for that.

  • Cannot extra precautions be taken such as the jury connecting via video-conferencing from another room, with only the judge being able to see the screen?

  • Not if they wake you up early.

  • My father can say that in the language of sparrow owls and can attract several female ones per hour.

  • The purpose of code is to solve a problem but don't tell that to the newbies or they reduce the PHP codebase you spend full time managing to 10% that in Rust and take your job.

  • Not in solitary confinement (unless he's on suicide watch ofc)

  • Seconded this. Very small too, at about 10 MiB, or 250 kiB per game, which is tough to beat! The Android port is probably the best but a Linux and Windows version also exist. Get it on F-Droid

There is also Gauguin, a similarly small app but with only 1 puzzle type, this one. There are more options though, including more operation combos, negative and non-consecutive numbers, and even rectangular grids! The controls are a little worse if you ask me and so is the performance but not by a lot. I have spent huge amounts of time playing the game in both apps and I slightly prefer this one thanks to more variation.

  • Not a computer game but Tetris-like, Lonpos Cosmic Creatures had me thinking which of the irregular pieces fit allong any jagged edge for a while.

  • Fantastic Fist - €12.49

Fantastic Fist is a platforming game focused on simultaneous keyboard and mouse controls. While the character can be moved around with the keyboard, the mouse can be used to interact with the environment by punching with a giant fist.

A puzzle platformer with tight controls and true pixel art, much like Celeste. Makes very good use of the controls available on a PC. Low system requirements (100 MB storage). Solo dev spent years perfecting the gameplay.

I don't play platformers but I'd like to support the dev (not affiliated). I will gift it to you on Steam if you're the first to ask for it via DM CLAIMED. As for games I have played, I enjoy little itch.io VNs by npckc, I just wish my devices were fast enough to run Ren'Py decently...

  • I know. I'm not saying I need it any faster and most people in fact don't, but as they have no incentive to widen their bandwidth, we can expect outages if they ever make some lawless group angry.
