So fun fact! This type of helmet is a type of "closed helm" called an Armet which has cheek plates that open up and close around your neck. This portion of the helmet that protects your neck and chin is called a "bevor".
Here it is opened up.
The other type of closed helm, simply called a "close helm" has the bevor and visor attached to the same hinge like this example:
So the course basket weave fabric is actually my hood which is a modified kylo ren hood I bought back in 2016. I just looked and the shop no longer sells it.
So the pointy helm is what is called a Bascinet. They come in a bunch of different variations. The one i have is referred to as a Wenzel Bascinet due to its depiction in the 15th century Wenzel Bible.
I did not make them unfortunately, but I did paint and weather them. The bascinet was completely unwearable and inhisthoric. I had to do a lot of work to it to make it wearable. If you check my comment history, you can pribably find the wall of text in which I describe everything I had to do lol.
Also, the helm with the flat top, typically referred to as a Crusader Helm, is a "Great Helm" I wear that one for my crusader armor which is a very anachronistic 12th/13th century setup.
It was a photo of opportunity at a very large, sold out renaissance festival. The fact that there are only 2 people in the background is a miracle. Cool your boots buddy.
Mostly side-quests, adventuring. If a bounty is worthwhile I might run'em down.
