I've heard of people getting divorced with terminal conditions because they don't want to leave their partner with hundreds of thousands of dollars of medical debt.

They are fantastic for spoken audio like audiobooks and podcasts by themselves, if you're using them in combination with earplugs they work a lot better for music because you get the low bass sounds that you would miss without the ear plugs.

Social media has barely been around for 20 years, we kept in contact with those we wanted to just fine before it. But now with social media you're in contact with all of them all the time, even the ones you aren't particularly excited to see once a year on the holidays.

The "superior OS" is whichever one meets the users needs the best.
For most people Windows works just fine because a PC is an appliance to them, and an important feature of an appliance is simplicity for the user.
But for others Linux works better, especially if you want to do anything server related
