Is it anything more than symbolic at this point considering Trump will be in office in 15 days?
Because he's going to immediately reverse it.

We need to strap musk to the top of his next test rocket

$5 says he'll order them back to full mast as soon as he's inaugurated and he denies Carter his full 30 days.

$10 says Republicans demand flags fly at half staff for 60+ days after Trump dies because he was president twice.

Best is the 3rd shift factory workers that'll be on their lines and don't even get a break to watch the countdown.
I don't miss that shit at all.
But it was still better than working overnight on daylight savings time switch and having an extra hour of work the other two shifts didn't get.

The only thing that is going to accomplish is increasing profit margins for the people importing the goods, because they're absolutely still going to hike their prices by the same percentage that the tariffs are set at.
So consumers will be paying more but corporations will be reaping the benefits of the 25% increase in profit margins without paying extra because they're skirting the tariffs while telling everyone that they have to pay it.

Not necessarily, you could absolutely survive without electricity, I live in a predominantly Amish area that proves that.
It just wouldn't be any fun.

Electricity.
If you lose electricity most people lose access to:
Hot water
Running water (if you have a well)
Air conditioning
Indoor heat
Television
Internet
Indoor lighting
And hot meals if you don't have gas.

Losing electricity would cut you off from almost all of your luxuries as we've become completely dependent on it over the last century or so.

Why should we stop short?
Russia is actively in combat with an Eastern European nation and has been for 4 years. It's arguable that the rest of Europe and the West engaging with Russia on a battlefield would actually save more lives in the end by shortening the conflict.
They can't make war if you remove their means to make war.

Same as last year and the year before.

Well, I'd been putting it off so I figured this was the push I needed to donate again

I work for a university and we used to get two weeks off between Christmas and New years every year, now with our new president he's decided to only extend that privilege to the faculty and the staff only get Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day off but have to work the rest of the time.

The only question I have is about prions, which are just misfolded proteins. As long as the quality control is good enough I don't have to worry about that, then I'd have no problem with it.

I'd say a solid 50.
I'm fine if I have some other kind of stimulation. If I find a good book to get lost in, an engaging project, or anything else to occupy myself I don't think of the Internet at all and kind of forget it exists.
But as soon as I'm bored and have no other mental stimulation my phone is out and I'm browsing something.

President musk has to be pissed

Unfortunately a smaller volunteer army does not mean less war, it just increases the odds of conscription if we do get into a conflict.

It means you can sit anywhere you want and you're not stuck in an assigned seat.
You get on the train early you can have any seat you want.
This seems like the exact opposite of infuriating.

It's inevitable.
They're both extreme narcissists and only Trump has any legitimate power out of the two. Eventually musk will try too hard to control him and Trump will use everything in his power to destroy him which, thanks to the Supreme Court, is now unlimited.
So I'd expect to see the IRS weaponized against Musk sometime in the next 12 months at the absolute latest.

Obviously one wasn't enough.
People need to keep sending the message until they get the point.
