  • Nah, we need to educate non-gun owning people that this is what the second amendment is about.

Do you know why the civil Rights act got passed in the first place?
It wasn't because of Martin Luther King's peaceful speech. It was because Malcolm x and the Black panthers started up buying up guns en mass.
If all who oppose Trump came together and started arming themselves, one of two things would happen.

    1. They institute stricter gun regulations and they piss off their own base and lose support.

    Or
    2) they start changing policies.

  • If the president does choose to implement any tariffs against Canada, we’re ready with a response – a purposeful, forceful but reasonable, immediate response. It’s not what we want, but if he moved forward, we will also act,” Trudeau added.

I'm glad to see Canada standing up for themselves, but unreasonable people cannot be swayed by reasonable action.
If he wants to make a difference it's going to actually have to hurt.

  • Games need to bring back locally hosted servers.
I remember back in the day I could play Warcraft II with a friend over dialup, I'd put his number in and that modem would call his house and he'd answer with his copy of Warcraft and we could play against each other over the phone line with no server.
Even as recently as the Xbox 360 you could system link games and play on multiple consoles without any connection to the internet.
I don't see why it would be so hard to allow for a locally hosted server on most games. They would still be playable indefinitely without need of any kind of central server system.
And they don't need to be mutually exclusive, Halo 2 allowed for you to play both on Xbox live and system link games

  • All of us, all of us are going to die.
    Accidents from unmaintained infrastructure.
    Disasters from relaxed building codes.
    Infectious disease like bird flu.
Preventable disease due to no access to health care.
Pregnancy complications with no ability to terminate.
    Concentration camps.
    War.
    Access to clean water.
    Accelerated climate change.
    Etc.
    We are truly fucked.

  • Ice storm of 2004, we didn't have power for 13 days, 10 of those days the road conditions were so bad that we couldn't get off the farm.
We had switched over to gas heat about 5 years before and didn't have a wood burner anymore so we had to resort to boiling pots of snow on the gas stove to keep the house above freezing.
The whole family slept in the downstairs living room adjacent to the kitchen with the gas stove in our sleeping bags and camping gear to stay warm.
On day 10 when the roads were accessible again we went to town but most places were still closed in the ones that weren't were picked pretty clean.
We we're able to find kerosene for the kerosene heaters and kept the house a little warmer for the next three days until the power came back on.
