But also, don't just post useless crap like "This." Or one-liners. Or the most annoying shit ever, which is when people just type out lines from a song, as if they're singing them in person. Like dude, we know you just googled it and copy-pasted that from Genius.com. Don't spam me with your bad pun threads either please.
Gotta spread the love around to different communities, and parcel it out. Make ten memes and post two a day, meanwhile banking up more. If you have the talent for making memes, before long you'll have so many stored up that you can just post them at will, either over time or downthread as a reaction to something else and let someone else repost them.

I don't currently have access to a decent laptop for this purpose, so it would have to be on mobile, and every free image editor app I've tried is lousy at making meme images. Maybe I'm missing the obvious ones, but I could definitely use a 'For Dummies' tier guide to making OC.
I sometimes have a twinge of guilt about it too. When I was younger and had more free time, I would spend time on actual submissions and not just comment. But I'm too old and tired for that shit these days.
Posting an opinion on a political hot potato like Israel-Palestine is just asking to get banned by someone. Because there's religion inextricably tied up in it, it's one of those things that short circuits rational thought in a certain sort of person.
And that should be obvious. People who say things like "fuck Israel" (fr tho, fuck the Israeli regime, but also fuck Hamas) shouldn't be surprised if some backwards dipshit - or a corporation that relies on backwards dipshits for revenue - goes nuclear on them.
RedReader is almost tolerable, but man I just don't have the tolerance for the atmosphere of shit that swirls around there like I used to. I'm grateful Lemmy exists as a far more comfy alternative.
The main problem is just that it's harder to get started with it than it is to just hop on another social media site and browse. It requires a bit of effort, and that's like being second to start a race. It's always going to be hard to catch up.
