Well yeah. Their choice is to either give in to the editor's/owners demand that the language change or they don't have a job anymore. I'm not saying the phenomenon you describe isn't real. Just hold the appropriate people responsible and it is the editors setting the agenda, not the journalists 99% of the time.

Look, as a bystander watching on in horror I'll preface this by stating I hate Trump to the point I only watch video news on platforms I can skip hearing his voice. I hate America for subjecting me to at least another 4 years of dodging his awful mouth noises. And I hate myself for not being able to do anything more about it.

That said, he does have a mandate like it or not. Arguing 'it is not that big of a landslide' means nothing. He has the Presidency again with a popular vote majority. His party owns the Senate, the House, and the GD supreme court. This is literally the only thing he is not full of shit on so suck it up because it is the reality and will be for the next 1500 days or so. If you're an american you deserve what's coming thanks to your action, or impotence. You have zero excuse as far as the rest of the world is concerned so suck it up while we batten down the hatches and try to secure our shit from the blowback.
