  • We've gotten it from a few vendors over the months, like from Queen Vic market, Footscray, and most recently yesterday in Springvale Central.

My wife otherwise thinks they're all not fresh - it lacks the taste of when the young coconut is opened freshly chopped down from the tree. I thought it's so sweet it's almost artificial.

In my wife's home town home we have a rather large heavy knife. A few well placed hits is all it takes to get the water.

  • A major difference between my wife and I:

    • I spent 10 minutes banging a wooden spoon on a standard kitchen knife trying to open a coconut. I give up after the wooden spoon disintegrates, the coconut still closed.
    • My wife comes into the kitchen and swings the same knife at the coconut a few times. Less than a 30 seconds later, we have access to coconut water.
  • How to jump start a neighbour's Ford Focus with the key-opened bonnet :

Step 1: Try to open the bonnet.

Step 2: With their friends, in total four of us, take turns repeating step 1 while watching YouTube.

Step 3: Celebrate too hard after finally spending almost 2 hours getting the damn bonnet open ... and helplessly watch as they accidentally smash the windshield with said bonnet.

Step 4: Connect batteries, start car, warn neighbour fuel is at 5%, pray that they have enough to gain enough charge to restart after refuelling.

Step 5: Bitch about the problem.

  • Tyre swapped out. Also had a wheel alignment done as it was slightly out of whack after hitting an unmarked speed bump at 40kmh a few weeks ago.

Techs found a piece of bicycle chain in the tyre. Not a nail. But it was deep enough to still require a replacement.

  • My wife and I spent an hour trying to justify buying a TV for shits and giggles.

We came up with a massive list of arguments. A large handful of strong against, and 1 weak support.

We had a landlord-provided TV in the old apartment. We both lived there for 2 years, the TV used for probably an hour in total.
