  • @BlackGulaman @soyagi, at the moment, but M$ isn't much better anyway, both are userdata hogs, like also Amazon and Meta, because of permissive or even inexistent privacy laws in the USA.

  • @Int @fossilesque, scary rather the shame we experience when they ask us to bring them to our leader

  • @fuser, apart of Vivaldi social, the instance made by the Vivaldi browser for it's users, I'm also since long time ago in Lemmy.ml (with another Nick), also conected to Mastodon.

  • @fuser, the fediverse has nothing to do with monolithic social networks, controlled by large multinationals. It doesn't matter if you use an instance of Lemmy, Friendica, Diaspora, or Mastodon. etc., are really of the people and independent of large corporations and linkable with each other. Here in Mastodon I see posts of all these in my Timeline and I suppose you too, like the one where I am.

  • @fuser, Andi certainly is a fresh wind, it was the first search engine with AI which appears, before Google, Bing and the others. Great work of two very nice and friendly devs, Angie Hoover and Jed White, with an open ear to the user in their Discord channel for suggestions, feature request, bug report (well, it's still in developement) or simple chat.

  • @xavier666, only if it is used in subsidiaries where they have to manage money movements over the network, but not in local administrative applications where it is irrelevant, as in all purely local uses. In monoapplications in this area, even an old MsDOS will be worth it.
They have traveled to the Moon with an SO from a Tamagochi.

  • @xavier666 @vaultdweler13, it's true, For internal use with PCs connected to the central server itself and not to the network, it is used for compatibility with corporate software, sometimes still very old Windows. This, when using it on the one hand only in a specialized way and on the other hand only locally, is more than enough. The same in factories in production for the automation of some valve or machinery with repetitive processes, a super-pc with a NASA OS is not needed.

  • @BudgetBandit @samsy, it is not an X, when designing the logo he only thought that by drawing another one at a right angle at each end of the line, it would have been too obvious.

  • @whenigrowup356 @VikingHippie, only wines from carafe, brick or that have a screw cap that are available for €0.90 in the supermarket, these sometimes even contain wine.

  • @SpookyBogMonster @ArcaneSlime, I'm a left commonsensist in my ideology, and I only can say, that any system which lacks of the sovereignty of the people, based only on a leader or a small elite, be it from the right or the left, necessarily becomes a fascist and corrupt dictatorship. It is irrelevant if it is called Stalin or the fat boy of North Korea on the left or banks and multinationals in capitalism that make the rules, the result for the people is the same. Fascism

  • @MostlyBirds @abbiistabbii, anarchy is the system to which a mature and sovereign society automatically converges, but for this current humanity is still too young as specie, the evolutionary state can be compared with that of a child in puberty, regarding behavior. An anarchic system would necessarily lead to a collapse total of the current society (Lord of the Flies effect). A long way still to go.

  • @tara @Sharkwellington, agree, it is precisely one of the many reasons why I use Vivaldi, it is from a European cooperative, owned by it's employees and without external investors who can influence in it's decisions. Company ethics are important.
