  • He’s been a PR pope whose purpose was to convince you that the Catholic Church is less regressive than it is. None of their stances on LGBT people have fundamentally changed, and they are still a huge driver of anti-abortion laws and access issues, even in the US; did you know 1 in 10 hospitals in the US are Catholic? In some areas that means your only option doesn’t do abortions, even if it’s legal in your state and you have a medical need for one. Or if they make an exception it’s only after making you unnecessarily risk sepsis. The same kind of stuff you’re seeing people die/nearly die from in states where abortion is illegal.

And there’s pretty much always Catholics who think the current pope is Going Too Far if they do anything short of reversing Vatican II.

  • I’ll have to give it a try if I ever see some, I think all I’ve ever seen here are soy, almond, rice, and oat.

  • I wish oat milk didn’t tear my guts up, because it’s easily the best plant milk I’ve had.

  • And if you had argued that killing animals and eating their meat is the source of diseases, well again that's not how AIDS started

I was under the impression primate bush meat consumption was believed to be the origin of HIV, is that not the case anymore?

  • Relevant Smithsonian article.

I’d probably skip on the animal fat and bitumen, but cedar, juniper, and cypress all smell pretty good.

Apparently the scent could also vary slightly depending on who was being embalmed.

  • I like Dime Store Adventures for history trivia and exploration, mostly USA focused.

  • Harold the Soup Stealing Gnome has stolen all your soup, rendering your short rest half as effective.

  • I think the states would have to agree to it first, wouldn’t they? Congress can’t unilaterally modify the Constitution (thank Christ).

  • It’s a tweet, but please don’t let that stop you from getting mad about it.

  • He looks like a half dressed toddler. Nice of him to give everyone an immediate visual cue for what they’re about to deal with, I guess.

  • Allegedly Elon’s chest shape is what happens when you take HGH and don’t exercise. Not a doctor or a bodybuilder so I can’t say whether that’s true, but if the shoe fits ¯(ツ)

  • Oh, what a cutie! He looks a lot like a dog my family had that was super sweet and acted like a cat because he grew up around them.

  • For what it’s worth, I hope it’s come across clearly that nobody who has zero tolerance towards misgendering is OK with this kind of behavior from Drag. I’m sorry you’ve been harassed like that.

  • I haven’t misunderstood anything, and will not be accepting feedback on it. Blahaj has a hardline “respect pronouns always” stance, and I invite anyone that has a problem with that in the current political climate to sit on it and spin. The pronouns were never the problem.

  • I love how for some reason they interpret “I specifically would not like to read this” as “DEBATE ME! DEBATE ME NOW!!” 🥲

  • Using neopronouns isn’t doing that. Being a weird furry isn’t doing that. Bad behavior doesn’t do that either, and trans people who are shithead trolls still don’t deserve to be misgendered.

Any trans person who thinks kicking the “cringe” trans people while we’re all down will buy them five minutes off the chopping block is at best a rube.

  • Boy, there’s not a whole lot I would like to read less than people giving their opinions on trans furries who use neopronouns. People get just a little too excited about having found the ‘right kind’ of trans person to invalidate, and think that Drag being a troll somehow proves something about neopronouns or nonbinary people.

I’m just gonna keep saying the same thing I’ve been saying since the first post about this: you don’t have to interact with everyone. If you think someone’s pronouns are trolling then report them, block them, and move on with your life.

  • Sorry if I was short about it or jumped the gun; I’ve seen more people than I like blaming Trump being elected on their favored punching bag, while ignoring the bigoted elephant in the room.

The twisted thing is, even the full throated, Nazi-saluting racists are going to get hurt by this administration. Nobody benefits from measles making a comeback or people dying from lack of abortion access, and health problems don’t care how you voted.

  • I asked because, that 13% combined with those who didn't vote at all might have been the difference between being persecuted or not by the current administration.

13% of 10% of the population, if every single queer person voted, is 1.3% of the total population. Blaming 1.3% of the population for being oppressed by the majority that voted for oppressing them is at best a waste of time.

84% of Trump’s votes came from white people; if 5% of them were less shitty we wouldn’t be going through this. But somehow this societal conversation always comes back to minorities not voting correctly or not voting enough, instead of talking about white America’s racism problem.
