  • Currently playing The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. Game seems okay overall. I’m still in the early parts of the game and I’m waiting for it to hook me.

  • Totally agree! If they came back I’d immediately hang up if I heard some annoying ass song instead of a phone ringing.

But a young me really liked them and bought a few!

  • LG Chocolate! I had the white one. It did everything I needed, supported custom ringtones, had paid ring back tones (remember those?), played music, etc. The best thing was being able to text with one hand while not having to look at what you’re typing. Hopefully it’s not nostalgia affecting me with this phone, but it ran flawlessly for years before I eventually upgraded to a Motorola Droid back in the day.

I miss fun phones. I can either have a folding slab, a black slab, or a different slab that comes in other colours. 🥲

  • Loved my Lumia 920 back in the day. A phenomenal phone featuring a fun user experience with the Live Tiles. It was a great phone if you didn’t like apps.

  • We’re like a family here. When you need help, we support each other. In this case, we support the floors.

  • Depends on the game. For example I can’t get Persona 5 Strikers to run in Proton. No videos load or cutscenes. I’d I run it with Proton-GE (9.x), it works flawlessly.

  • Split Fiction is worth the MSRP. Ideally it’s great if you can get it on a discount, but this is one of the few games I’d pay full price for. My spouse and I loved it.

  • Sure thing. I also read more comments and saw you have a laptop and stream games to a tablet.

For my use case, I have a desktop PC for when I want to play at high fidelity and have serious time to sit down and game. The Steam Deck I have is for the free moments of gaming time I can get. I can be on the couch and game. Sit on my porch during a break and game for a bit. I can click the button to sleep the console and pick up in two days from right where I left off - either Steam games or ROMs.

A Steam Deck isn’t cheap so definitely weigh your options and find out what works best for you. If you feel you want the performance uplift and can just wait, then put your laptop in another room so you won’t hear it and steam it to a tablet with a controller in your hands or something. That’ll give you a great experience, too. Then you can get Deck 2 and feel happier with your decision.

If money isn’t as much of a concern, freaking get it now lol.

  • Even if a new AAA comes out that you’re eagerly wanting to play and the performance may not be great on Steam Deck, don’t forget about all the hundreds of games you also love that can be played on Steam Deck. Or the ROMs from nostalgic consoles that you love.

If you have a gaming solution now and you’re not ready to commit, just wait for the inevitable next gen Deck as you’ll be happier that way. Of course we’ll never know when it is coming.

Get a device now and play the games you want? Or wait ~2 years and get the next gen so you can play some games better?

Only you can make that informed decision that works best for you. Best of luck!

  • I switched to Linux last year. I’m just a teacher but I’ve got pretty good techy skills having grown up in the late 80s with computers. Switching to Linux gave me some small problems at first, but everything works just fine for me. My husband’s been pretty curious seeing me have fun with it and mess around on my computer more. Maybe I’ll get him to switch one day too! 🙃

  • Thank you for your attention to this matter!

  • A god-like alien that is faster than a speeding bullet should be able to easily dodge Batman poon.

  • Overall I love my PSVR2. Got it with the pack in Horizon Call of Mountain game, but that caused way too much motion sickness for me.

Instead, I use the PC adapter and play games on Steam. Good entry level headset, especially considering I got it for half price during a huge sale. I enjoyed what I’ve played so far and it didn’t cost a lot to find out if I can tolerate VR gaming.

  • The actor who played Oscar in The Office also was in The Italian Job (Marc Walberg, Charlize Theron). He was the security guard for the rich guy (Edward Norton) and said maybe two lines while checking ID.

  • Looks familiar. Philadelphia on No Kings Day June 14, 2025:

  • My what long fingers you have! And hallucinogenic text!
