I meant to say 2024, during the election. The past few years have been a blur to me.

1. Comments on news articles are going to largely be bots, it's a waste of time.
2. They do not care about being hypocrites. They are laughing with glee that they are winning and that you are losing, frustrated, angry, and scared.

That is the pragmatic and short term outcome, but I would not discount the level of power hard-line Christian nationalists have over the far right. Many of them believe "moral degeneracy" like porn is the most grave problem of western society and would be glad to "correct" it given the chance.

I think the order of operations is almost unimportant if their opposition can only secure minor, temporary victories and nobody is truly stopping them. If anything the broad stroke of this bill could be used as cover while states quietly criminalize homosexuality and transgenderism by fiat.

It really made the rounds again in 2020, even to the point of breaking into the mainstream. Probably a lot more people are aware of it than you might think, it's just the doing something about it that we're all sticking on.

They are well trained in thuggery and how to evade legal consequences. 80% of cops wouldn't know discipline or acting through adversity if it knocked their teeth out, and the 20% that do learned it in the military.

Sure, they want more racists, especially armed racists, to close ranks with for when the coup goes from administrative to paramilitary. That's why I have the feeling that these people coming in are a special breed of violent ideation.

But will their shared hatred of nonwhites and progressive globalism be enough to form bonds with Americans? They're still foreigners moving to a foreign land at the end of the day.

My gut instinct is telling me these are the kinds of people from the era of Soldier of Fortune and shooting at UN peacekeepers for a paycheck. "Rugged individualist" ranchers who've been willing to beat "the coloreds" back with automatic rifle fire for years.

But that is likely a take based on my ignorance of the area.

One thing's almost for certain, MAGA isn't doing this out of the kindness of their hearts. They will expect payment for services rendered. I'd keep an eye on the professional background of these people to get an idea of what form that payment will take.

I think if you can't find someone with the fortitude to put a hole in the victim's brain stem at muzzle contact range (let's ask the people who pushed for this punishment, for example), and you have to go through all this procedure to alleviate "guilty consciences", maybe the whole idea isn't so great?

Recently some states have brought it back specifically. No points for guessing which way those states lean politically.

Like always, they want protection and sympathy for themselves, and vengeance upon everyone else.
