  • Apple’s ecosystem isn’t unique, take Cosco or Sam’s Club for example. If you want access to their “user base” then you’ll need to follow their rules and accept that they’ll be taking a bigger cut than other markets. You can choose to sell elsewhere, but that’s the price for access to their customers.

And as for your Ford example, that’s hardly a crazy concept. Plenty of manufacturers have to pay a premium to manufacture parts for certain companies.

  • Honestly tho… it seems like they have a point. It isn’t just blind ranting, there’s a lot of truth here.

And I say that as someone that doesn’t even particularly like Apple, I use Windows and prefer Android.

  • Developers: I don’t find your rules worth access to your user base. Luckily I have the option to release my app on other stores on Android, so I’ll simply do that.

  • Same, I haven’t supported them since 2020 but after this I’m never coming back. They can go fuck themselves, I hope their “Switch 2” fails like the WiiU did.

  • Like everyone’s just constantly tripping really hard… I can get behind that. It would explain a lot.

  • People’s inability to understand what “pov” means will never not infuriate me

  • I’ve never watched any Star Trek aside from those newer movies but doesn’t Star Trek literally take place in like a socialist utopia?

  • Rule

    Jump
  • It’s less about the individual people and more about the system itself

  • Bummer, well I hope you eventually manage to get one. The Steam Deck is a super cheap entry point nowadays.

  • I hope so. I loved the first two movies but really wished they’d lean even more into Deadpool’s fourth wall breaking and insanity. Like beating people over the head with subtitles, or rewriting the script to work in his favor.

Plus I really loved the comics where Deadpool had multiple other voices in his head that he’d argue with. I’d love for them to somehow incorporate that.

  • If they actually managed to, my faith in humanity would be restored a little bit

  • I mean clearly that’s not the only reason, right? If it were, every previous Harry Potter video game would’ve sold just as well.

  • Oh no kidding, I loved how they handled the curses. For the most part at least. Like, I would’ve been pretty disappointed if they weren’t usable in-game at all, but was never sure how they could introduce them in a realistic way. So HL literally having entire side quests devoted to you discovering the curses and learning how to use them honestly blew away my expectations.

My only issue with them is being able to use them in front of others so casually. They should’ve just made them unusable if you had another character accompanying you.

  • Yeah I wish Hogwarts Legacy had taken more inspiration from Persona. Having a schedule, working on social links, engaging in fun activities outside of school, it all lends itself incredibly well to a Hogwarts game.

Unfortunately it sounds like the creators haven’t ever even touched a Persona game. I remember before the game launched they were asked if there’d be romance options, and they seemed almost offended by the thought since the characters are kids, despite Persona doing the same for literal decades.

Going to a ball in Hogwarts Legacy, or going on a date in Hogsmeade, would’ve been so much fun too.

  • Tbf you can still get a phone with a headphone jack, and with a ton of space. Not that you need a crazy amount for music anyway.

Also confused about the internet connection part. Even if you only use music streaming services, most let you download your music for offline listening.

  • No, you’re totally right. My hope is that I’m in a more stable place when that day comes. I’m already doing a lot better, so here’s to hoping.

I appreciate you saying that tho, I think that’s important to hear for a lot of people in similar situations, because it’s absolutely true.

  • Honestly I agree. If you want sideloading, here’s the great thing about competition, you can go with a competitor that allows that.

I regularly swap between iPhone and various androids specifically because I want different things sometimes. I don’t want iPhone’s niche to get screwed up - one of their biggest selling points is their tailor made walled garden experience. It’s sure as hell not for everyone, but for those that like it, it’s fantastic.

And for the record, I say all this as someone who usually goes with Android.
