Exactly this. I think the real problem is that “infinite” is virtually impossible to comprehend, so people regularly misunderstand what it means and how it works.

I’m open to being wrong, but I still think old shitty statues and stuff should be put in a museum or something. I think it’s important to preserve history, especially when it represents something bad. The Holocaust museum is a solid example, and imo is incredibly important.

I’d even say the same for the One Ring if there wasn’t the chance for someone to reclaim it and become all powerful. I mean is it even possible to contain it?

Fair enough. If you ever give it another chance though, I promise it’s worth it. The way Eren progresses and where he ends up as a character is very, very rarely done in anime.

I’m also surprised you’d bring up Evangelion in a discussion of overused tropes. That’s another show that takes a pretty bizarre turn and ends up going places that few other shows ever even attempt to.

Oh, I figured the tropes you listed would be tropes that appear in aot. Considering this post and even our very discussion is about that specific show.

So again, within this thread you learned from another commenter why the term “childlike” was used. Not because of anything malicious, but because of them copy/pasting.

You learned this, and despite that continued to use the “childlike” term as evidence to your point, knowing that it was inaccurate.

Again, to be clear, I’m not criticizing your initial impressions when you first discovered the community. Hell, I’m not even criticizing the overall decision you came to. What I am criticizing is your current, continued use of talking points that you know are false.

I’m saying that right now you know that the term “childlike” was only there due to a copy/paste issue, not because of anything malicious going on. And I know you know this as you responded to a comment explicitly pointing it out. In spite of this you’ve continued to parrot the same talking points regarding “childlike” appearing in the sidebar.

And again, I can’t tell if this is due to you not actually fully reading the comment, or if it’s that the truth is simply less convenient and you’d rather continue using the same talking points despite knowing they’re inaccurate.

Your reply somehow has virtually nothing to do with what I called you out on, as nowhere did I criticize or doubt your initial reaction or overall decision. I’m a little confused. Above, a comment went really into detail as to why they believe this was just a misunderstanding. One thing they mentioned was this:

Now… you actually replied to the comment that I’m quoting from. So you saw that the only reason that “childlike” was included was because it was copy/pasted - not because of anything malicious. So, did you not actually read their whole comment? Or did you read it and decide to continue with this talking point despite knowing it’s flawed?

IOS has no such feature, what’re you talking about? This is exclusive to Reddit, and technically Apollo as a donation system. Apple didn’t make this, and it’s not a system level feature. Reddit made this, and you access this nonsense within their own app.

Also, congrats, you now know an Android user who cares about what their device looks like. I’m genuinely surprised I’m the first though, as the level of customization Android offers makes for an ideal place for those looking to customize the look of their device.

Btw try not to use so many strawman arguments in the future. I never said people used third party launchers exclusively to change icons, for example. I’m sure it wasn’t intentional, but figured I’d let you know regardless.
