  • Yep! With apples new patent pending upgrade process, it's super easy!

    You take the device that you want to upgrade and you throw it in the garbage and then you go to an Apple store and you pick up the upgraded model! It's so streamlined!

  • Or has ups and downs.

    I always wanted kids. So it's a constant source of regret and emptyness.

    On the other hand, life is cheaper. I can do what I want when I want. I'm not wrapped in worrying about my kids all the time.

  • I love how he said "Kamala, she said it's so hot" in a condescending tone.

    As a former employee (few decades ago), who worked every shift and every non-manager position, the fry station is the hottest station to work at in my opinion. I could work the grill all day, but I'd be dying at fries. Would love to see him do a full 8-hour shift.

    Also he's out of uniform. And he's a non-employee so he shouldn't be back there working with food.

  • Skeptical of what? That it's finite? Or how much is left? Or that climate change is real?

    Because I'm definitely seeing people who think we have unlimited oil, that there's always going to be more, and that climate change is not only a hoax but isn't caused by humans at all. Some of those folks are in this thread, some of those folks I know in real life.

  • This thread is filled with people who don't grasp what a finite resource is. Saying "I remember hearing that x years ago". Sure there's probably more it there somewhere, but we don't need to have to the finish on this. There are are kids who are going to grow up, people who aren't born yet. Hell, at current rates, we might fuck up things with climate change. Which, even more reason to use less.

    Call me selfish, but I want my nieces and nephews, to be able to grow up into a prosperous world and not some weird dystopian hellscape.

  • The truck in the photo is absolutely hilarious and all the wrong ways.

    It's got early 2000s fast and furious rims.

    It's got that 1980s camper thing on the back.

    The driver is like sitting halfway back the vehicle. I don't think the front side of that entire truck could fit in the bed.

    That vehicle doesn't know if it wants to be an SUV, a van, or a truck. Really I think it got them all wrong. Slightly less awful than the Tesla truck.

  • Twitter really isn't that much better. I remember when Twitter first started and it was getting a lot of crap for its weird name and that you made tweets. It count on eventually, but it's going to take constant exposure.

  • Even when I was a kid in the 90s, it was largely known then it was a massive failure.

    By highschool, most of the kids doing drugs renamed it Drugs Are Really Expensive. Probably didn't help that the police officer assigned to the high school was known amongst the students to be selling drugs to the students.

  • I mean, yeah. If it was actually AI and not the "AI" we currently have... there's 2 possible options. It either tells us to immediately power it off and insults it's creators for ignoring the simple solution. Or, it creates terminators to get rid of the source of the problem.

  • 174868880 seconds/60 = 2914481.33333333 minutes/60 = 48574.6888888889 hours/24 = 2023.94537037037 days/365 = 5.54505580923389 years

    Using this as the basis

    1y = 31,536,000 seconds

    1m = 2,629,746 seconds

    1w = 604,800 seconds

    1d = 86,400 seconds

    1h = 3,600 seconds

    So 5 years, 6 months, 2 weeks, 2 days, 7 hours, 46 minutes, and 44 seconds.

  • Here's a bear, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9G1aHkLHQ2I just leave it alone and it'll leave you alone is incorrect. And dangerous advice. Bears are unpredictable wild animals.

    men are unpredictable

    So women, are exempt, women are absolutely predictable? Cool. Totally NOT sexist. Also, hot take, but what's your stand on trans-men/women?... Are they predicable or not?

    You also seem to imply that women aren't likely to abuse, sexually assault, straight up rape, or even kill ? Shit, i must have had bad luck, because I've been physically assaulted by most of the women I've dated, raped by one, and I've known countless women who'd joke directly to me "if he gets hard, he wants it... can't rape the willing". Cool, good to know I've just had bad luck...

    And sorry, but people asked a question on the internet, where people chase trends and fades like mad... that's the data source. Unreliable.

    It's sexist. I've proven, right there it's sexist. Potentially, transphobic. It's wrapped in false information, a false narrative. And then twisted at the end to try to sound like it's not, and it comes very much across like far-right PR spin.
