  • I didn't see Unciv recommended yet, it's a decent mobile open source version of Civilization.

Pocket City 2 also gets a shout-out, it's not very deep but a nice casual city builder with a one time purchase.

  • In fiscal year 2024, the U.S. government spent nearly $900 billion on interest on the debt alone.

"That's more than we spent on national defense, Medicare, and children at the federal level – just a truly astounding figure," MacGuineas said. "The national debt is on track to reach a record share of the economy in just two years, a sobering milestone for both the next Congress and whoever wins the presidency in November."

  • I don't understand how this can be an interpretation when trump and vance made clear they are indifferent if the immigrants are legal and working. They've pushed the point the springfield immigrant community shouldn't be here, shouldn't be supported, even if they came legally - it's the wrong kind of legal. There's nothing directing which 'legals' are good in their policy.

  • How? Blood, sweat and tears mostly.

Usually it's not recommended to start with your "dream game". Pick an engine (I like Godot), grab some Kenney art assets, and get to work on a pong or snake clone. This can be using written tutorials, videos, or hard mode, read the docs and piece it together.

Trying to learn a language, learn an engine, learn the art pipeline, learn game dev concepts AND dream up a new game concept with custom assets simultaneously is trying to boil the ocean. Start small: add a start menu, add a scene. Make jpg appear and move using player input, add an obstacle, add a death scene/restart. Iterate from there.

  • It's hard to argue against "ain't broke why fix", and frankly, I'm surprised your install has lasted so long without going sideways heh. If you avoid the AUR that's probably helped. And I actually do believe manjaro has improved in the last year or two - it's just difficult to recommend while endeavour and archinstall exist.

  • Manjaro as a project is amateur hour, over and over again. Their practice of holding back packages is bad, causing many version conflict problems. Their software DDOSing repos is bad, they can try to pass the blame to pamac, but they are the ones shipping it. Their repeated inability to keep certificates updated is bad.

EndeavourOS should be recommended over Manjaro every time.

  • Sansa Clip used to be my go-to for this type of use, but it doesn't look like they make them anymore either... We're officially living in a time it's easier to find a CD player than a dedicated MP3. What the hell.

  • Holy shit, this guy works the greek restaurant near me. Every detail is right on - the tank top, tiny stool and even the magazine while he's waiting for customers.

Is this some stereotype I wasn't aware of??

  • I think it sounds like a cool spin on the character and you should do it. You're not faking vitiligo, you're faking burns, and I agree with your assessment that skin will look like that while healing... chances of anyone getting upset about this seems low.
