  • The bullshit accusations go on for months if not years as well. For months and months they hear this nonsense and take it as fact. Then there is one day of "ha, we lied" which gets buried and forgotten and, as you said, back to step 1.

  • They will (some already do) claim that climate change is real but not man-made, it's natural and inevitable. So rather than spending money on green initiatives they need to spend money on weapons/the military to defend resources they have and take resources they don't. They'll make cash making and selling weapons and their base will eat it all up as long as it's other people doing most of the dying. Maybe even if not.

  • Currently just using Synology photos but with an eye on immich, as others have mentioned and plan to switch now that it has facial and object recognition. At this point it can do everything I want and has the benefit of being open source.

You have a Synology and Synology photos will do the features you mentioned (multiple users, different permissions). While I wouldn't recommend it now over Immich I'm curious why you went with photoprism initially?

  • I was all about Uncle John's Bathroom Reader, a collection of facts a lot of which probably aren't true but it was entertaining.

But this was absolutely the backup option.

"Oh, sulfates huh? Tell me more. Rinse and REPEAT?? The fuck outta here."

  • Specs aren't a universal constant. They're defined by humans. Expert humans, but humans. He must have thought he knew better than the experts. He was wrong, but I don't think the lesson had time to sink in.
