  • I would say this is likely not a practical super conductor... But it may well be the first ever room temperature super conductor.

    The first semi-conductors were not practical either, but we can all see where that led!

  • I'm very skeptical, we have seen so many claims of room temperature superconductivity that have turned out to be fake... but considering that Berkeley National Laboratory replicated it, this makes me far more hopeful.

  • A heatpump is an AC, definitionally. There is no major difference for a 9000 BTU heat pump and a 9000 BTU AC in terms of capability to cool. They both work through using gas to move heat from the inside to the outside of the building.

    A heat pump can just run in reverse, and move heat form outside the building inside.

    A mini-split is a version of a heat pump where it has its own head and its own radiator, that are split. this is opposed to central AC.

  • I would love to see some new, big reactors to get us away from coal and natural gas! There is no way to get fully off polluting energy sources without a nuclear (and hydro) backbone

    94, came down for a vacation, had been having trouble eating more months. Went from ER to CAT scan in 6 hours, to a diagnosis of esophageal cancer.

    Requested MAID, took 5 days, and he was very thankful to receive it.

    The gun culture, "freedumb" insanity, and lack of basics such as healthcare make me view it fairly close to the third world. the only they thing have better there is more buying power.

    Same old playgame. In the end, if you cant turn a profit without destroying the lands, you cant turn a profit.

    They definitly need to process the water to the point that its "clean", before discharging it somehow, but the standard for clean needs to be... well, clean from impurities, heavy metals, ect.
