  • I don’t agree that it’s “tough guy” shit at all because, again, nowhere am I saying I have the balls to do what this great man did. He’s the tough guy. I just have a righteous justice boner from his honorable actions and hope to see more of it. So I’m speaking out in favor of the actions of a true hero of the people. That is all.

Attention from the feds? What are they going to do about it? It’s not a crime to approve of the shooter’s actions. It’s not a crime to be happy somebody is dead. If they plan to investigate everybody who merely approves of this event, they sure have their work cut out for them… because it rightfully appears to be the majority of the population.

  • Well, that's a real bummer. Not like I'm saying I want to do it personally. Bit too old for revolution. Haha. I am absolutely cheering it on from the sidelines though. Go Luigi #1!

  • Yes, I 100% know why I was banned by a corporate website that abandoned the policy of free speech they were founded on years ago. I don’t care. I’m done playing nice and thinking and saying what I’m “supposed to.” Fuck these people and all who lick their boots.

My question is what is Lemmy about? Can I say I’m glad that CEO got shot and I hope it becomes a new positive trend in the world here? Cause that’s my honest take, and it’s been so refreshing to see that it’s the predominant take among friends, family, and coworkers in the real world as well. We think Luigi is just great.

  • Yup, here's hoping. With a little luck, some would-be mass shooters will also hopefully reconsider their objectives after seeing how much love Luigi is getting and at least go out doing something positive for society instead of shooting innocent people. School shootings are so 1998 and real virgin behavior.

  • Violence is very unfortunately the only way the world ever changes substantially. We deify our own nations’ founders as legendary revolutionaries when they used violence as their primary tool. We understand why the French had their revolution. We root for the anti-heroes in films. But then I’m supposed to be silent when I see somebody finally taking action in a meaningful way against some greedy sociopathic pig? I’m supposed to be okay with platforms silencing me and telling me I’m wrong for thinking this way after decades of being beaten down by these types?

Well, I’m not upset that CEO is dead. I like it. I hope somebody guns down another every week. Gives me a rock hard justice boner. And if speaking like this gets me banned from online social media then maybe it’s for the best. Spend way too much time on it anyways. Haha.

  • Is it? I am indeed happy that CEO died. He deserved it. Fuck him.

Is Lemmy basically just Reddit Junior then? No real improvements to freedom of speech? More moderators being over zealous and deleting posts and banning people left and right and controlling the narrative? I don’t really know what this place is all about I guess. I’m not like super hateful or anything but I’m not going to pretend I’m on the side of monsters who ruin the world for profit. I fit in beautifully on Reddit circa 2008.

Looks like TikTok is the only place you can actually be a real mother fucker and my country is shutting that down soon. What a bummer.

  • That’s what I’m on since I’m not really too well read on Lemmy yet and it was the most popular. Any suggestions for a good instance that can be readily joined where we have some semblance of freedom of speech? I mean, I’m far from a terribly hateful person but I’m not going to pretend I’m upset when a bad person dies, and I also like discussing internet piracy and such. I just wish for Reddit circa 2008. Heh.

  • Reddit just banned me for saying I support Luigi in his monster slaying quest and hope there’s more heroes out there.

Say, what’s the Lemmy policy on being real? I don’t really care. I’ll say it in person as well as any online platform, and if I’m banned from them all then I’ll just read books and shit.

  • Yeah, I think the main thing that makes intermittent fasting effective is exactly this. I don’t believe that there’s anything magical about eating in a time window in itself but not taking in those extra little snacks that all add up is big.

  • Hah, same. Made an account awhile ago and this made me check to see how things are going in Lemmy land.

  • Dang, that’s quite a few people. Maybe we can stop linking our identity to a simple number in the US sometime? That would be swell.

  • I pay for Premium now since it includes music streaming which is convenient to use. If they raise the price too much, I'll absolutely just go back to mp3s and deal with the ads on YouTube and just watch less content on there. $15 is about my cap before I do that.

  • Just got the Pixel 6a when it was super cheap for Prime Day because my Note 9 was acting up even after a factory reset and wouldn't hold a charge for the day. I love it. It does everything I need a phone to do and is zippy fast. I don't see myself every spending a lot of money on a phone again unless it has some revolutionary new feature... but I think those days are over. If this line stays affordable and high quality, I'll probably go for another with my next phone too

  • Aside from all kinds of recipes I make pretty regularly (buffalo cauliflower, green bean fries, homemade pizza rolls and jalapeno poppers, etc.) I also regularly use it to heat frozen food or leftover pizza, to thaw bread, to roast vegetables... Tonight I used it to cook the protein I was making for an asian dish while I stir fried the veggies and made the sauce.

Huge variety of options. Maybe watch some YouTube videos of quick recipes and get inspired!

  • I try explaining this to fellow Americans that you end up paying much less in the end and never have the stress of how you're going to afford this stuff (or possibly even lose everything to a sudden health problem) but it falls on deaf ears if they've already been brainwashed. They refuse to hear that other countries have things figured out to make the lives of their citizens much more enjoyable.

  • Only been here a day but the main thing I’ve noticed so far is that the user base reminds me of the old days of Digg and Reddit. Nobody downvoting comments for no good reason, nobody being needlessly hostile or starting shit. I’ll enjoy it while it lasts.

  • Does it do a good job on ear hair? I’ve tried multiple groomers that get the nose hair well enough but every one of them has been trash at getting the ear hair so I’ve resorted to plucking it.

  • This is one of my biggest fears in life. Bugs creep me the hell out, I already have sleeping troubles, and I know I’d be wrecked by little bastards biting me in bed.

I can’t believe nobody has come up with a simple solution to this yet.

  • I find that I use it pretty much every day for one thing or another, so mine has earned permanent counter residence. I’ll probably buy a much fancier one when this one kicks the bucket.

  • One of my life purposes is converting people to The Way of Bidet. I have bought over a dozen as gifts for people and pretty much anybody who is actually willing to install it and try it loves it and hopefully converts others in turn. Clearly superior to wiping in terms of hygiene, saving money on TP, and not irritating the bum.
