What's the narrative? If he would have just listened? He had a bad history (innocent people don't need pardoned)? Cops do a dangerous job, there are bound to be grey areas? Idk, take your pick.

That, and it's arguable primary purpose is to serve ads. "People similar to you clicked on these ads" type shit. And I get it to a point, platforms need to support themselves, and unless it's a paid app, that doesn't keep servers running. But it'd be nice to just get one every 10 minutes, and not every 10 seconds, and also to opt out of tracking for served ads instead of just random ones.

It's also very featureless. Basically videos, comments, likes. I'm on it, and I've opened it maybe 6x in 2 weeks? I also think it's just an open feed; all the videos posted in chronological order (but I could be wrong here). Idk if this goes against the Fediverse creed to have an algorithm-fed feed, but I think part of the nature of these short form, endless-scrolling apps is finding vids about your interests from new places.

I guess the plus side is, Pei left 1+ because he didn't like where they were going and felt restricted, so maybe it's purely a money thing? He's shown he's successful in the market with his vision, so I'll assume it's just financial backing and no pressure from the "board"?

The OS has merged with Color OS. It's still called OxygenOS, but they have basically unified the two. It's also what got me out of 1+, my last phone with them was an 8 Pro.

I don't think so, but it is "woke", and that's a good enough reason for many to stick their fingers in their ears and claim that's why it didn't sell well.

I don't particularly think it is either, just that's it's conveniently there. The prevailing narrative about failed games recently has been wokeism, and not just the simple fact that games are increasingly shitty as the point isn't a compelling narrative or gameplay, but how many micro transactions can be squeezed out of a franchise.

They won't say that though, because they have a built in narrative of "we were too woke"; convenient excuse for a less micro transaction heavy game to be blamed, as well as an excuse to be more strict on themes in their games. None of the problems are solved, but they have a scapegoat.

I'd imagine they don't, because we're likely lumped in with Bluesky. And if some do make it here, they normally get reported on main instances, and their instances would unlikely remain federated for long.

I believe it for as long as Musk doesn't call on Spez to fix it. I'm sure he's looking for his moment to white knight for Musk so he can prove his usefulness.

This is my takeaway. I imagine Spez is pretty giddy at the thought of being mentioned with Musk, and is eagerly awaiting a phone call from Camp Elon so he can provide the solution (aka threaten mods to allow "Free Speech" or get replaced, and they'll acquiesce again.

Nah, I haven't played ESO as part of the guild in over a month. I still get on and do some stuff, but it's solo stuff or just with a group who linked up. Unless you're joining an end-game guild, I'd say the function is more social than content. T&L maybe a little different, but the point of the big guilds is that you can join, and you have a group of "vetted" players you fit in with to play when you want to. It is what you make of it, y'know?
