  • While I do like the principle, in this specific instance I don't think it's correct.

When sodium reacts with water it doesn't produce salt (NaCl), but sodium hydroxide (NaOH).

This is better known as lye, and it's a strong base and highly caustic, so definitely not a safe compound.

Edit: the other product of this reaction is hydrogen gas, which technically is stable, but also highly flammable...

  • Really cool way of picturing an IP dataframe!

Like if you're dropping it at a post office and praying it'll get to where you need it to, which makes it rather remarkable that it actually does get there.

  • Are sheep that friendly that they cuddle with people?! I think all sheep I've seen are pros at running away...

  • I don't know about associated punishments, but the highway code is clear.

Rule 267: [...]Overtake only on the right.

Rule 268: Do not overtake on the left or move to a lane on your left to overtake.

It goes on to clarify that, in heavy traffic, the left lane could be moving faster and that keeping up with the flow is OK.

  • Google search result #2. Sweating from exertion.

Point was always that nowadays Tesla isn't the only, or even the best, option on EVs.

  • You know what's a needless lane change? When I come behind you and have to cross 2 lanes to overtake you, because you're totally zoned out and never saw me coming, and then I have to move back 2 lanes again instead of 1.

MOVE RIGHT jackass. If changing lanes on an empty highway is too challenging for you, maybe you shouldn't be driving on one.

  • The highway code, the official rules for road use in the UK, reads:

(General Rules, 160) "keep to the left, unless road signs or markings indicate otherwise. The exceptions are when you want to overtake, turn right or pass parked vehicles or pedestrians in the road"

(Motorway lane disciple, rule 264): "Keep in the left lane unless overtaking. If you are overtaking, you should return to the left lane when it is safe to do so (see also Rules 267 and 268)."

Many other EU countries have the same rules. I wouldn't know about America.

  • Define better for you. The article gives their reasons.

But if you're all caught up in that, just go check some other list. Here's Top Gear's. They have the Renault 5e as #1, followed by the Hyundai Ioniq 5N, Roll-Royce Specter and the Porsche Taycan.

The point is that there are better, or at least similar, alternatives to Tesla nowadays, and if you're buying a Model 3 today, you're doing it by choice.

  • The linked article does include that explanation, so go read if you care.

I don't think that's too important, because the point was that there are Tesla alternatives nowadays you can choose from, so you don't have to buy one.

  • Right lane is for cruising.

Any lanes to the left are for overtaking, and you move back to the right after passing.

Of course it depends on how heavy the traffic is, but if you're not willing to move faster than the cars on your right, CHANGE LANES.

People driving in the middle lane when there's nobody on the right are a pet peeve of mine.

Edit: pasting this below, since people seem to be unaware of the actual rules.

Edit2: This is UK, flip left with right for almost every other country.

The highway code, the official rules for road use in the UK, reads:

(General Rules, 160) "keep to the left, unless road signs or markings indicate otherwise. The exceptions are when you want to overtake, turn right or pass parked vehicles or pedestrians in the road"

(Motorway lane disciple, rule 264): "Keep in the left lane unless overtaking. If you are overtaking, you should return to the left lane when it is safe to do so (see also Rules 267 and 268)."

Many other EU countries have the same rules. I wouldn't know about America.

  • Yes, it's from 2025, because as you say, the people who bought their Tesla before we all realized just how much of a lunatic Musk is can't really be blamed.

But nowadays that's no longer true, and case in point, there are better or at least similar options in the market.

  • Car experts: "We've driven all of these cars, so here's a list of which EVs we think are best and why."

Random troll: "Nah all shit cause cheap."

    ¯_(ツ)_/¯

  • "Best EV on the market"? Not by a long shot, I don't think.

    AutoExpress list:

    RankModel
    1Citroën e-C3
    2Skoda Elroq
    3Kia EV3
    4Renault 5 E-Tech
    5Hyundai Kona Electric
    6Renault Scenic
    7Volvo EX30
    8Tesla Model 3
    9BMW i4

  • One of my most satisfying moments was when my manager's manager asked me, over a highly populated slack channel, why I had installed an unreviewed external plugin with 6K+ lines of code, to deliver on a simple requirement.

I replied with "?", and a print screen from the logs showing he had installed that plugin a few months back. "I used what was available".

  • I really disliked it. If we're racing all at the same time to a finish line, then overtakes HAVE to happen. Monaco as a traditional F1 GP is dead.

The pit shenanigans are not what I watch F1 for. It's like the pinch of salt on the steak, brings out flavour, but salt isn't meat and you can't replace one with the other.

Max staying out in #1 just waiting for that flag to come was ridiculous, IMO. Even worse trying to back up Norris into Leclerc. People will disagree, and defend that it's a valid strategy, and it is, but it's also goddamn embarrassment. I'm sure everyone was looking at Tsunoda like hawks to see if he'd pull a "Nelson Piquet". That's just the kind of bullshit that NASCAR would pull off, and there's a reason they're dying: race integrity is a goddam farce if you don't slap down all this nonsense.

We're here to see the best pilots in the world pushing blazing fast, state of the art cars, to their absolute limit and beyond.

Instead, what we got was a clown show of a parade, with people intentionally driving slowly to create room for pits and whatnot. How absolutely disgraceful.

Can Monaco be saved? Maybe. The quali was thrilling to watch, so maybe FIA can come up with some sort of special event, with Championship points on the line, but where you try to set a better lap than other racers, like with brackets and if you win you race against (but depart several seconds behind) another winner, and losers Vs losers, until you end up with the top 2 winners fighting it out. I dunno, just a thought.

I'm so sorry that this is actually a concern that someone legitimately feels. It's unbelievable to me that anyone could date someone they don't like, for whatever reason...
