  • Because it's not a community. It's millions of random people that have nothing to do with each other and thus don't see the loud minority or feel the need to correct them. Of course you can create small group out of them, like the vegans of twitters, but they do not represent the many 60 yo Asians that just don't eat meat.

  • Just found out about i2p, i2psnark worked with i2p torrent (I couldn't make qbitorrent work). If I understood corectly, it should work with non i2p torrent if someone on the i2p network has it, but it's still pretty niche so right now it doesn't work mist of the time.

  • Less checking syntax and more like "what was this function name again ?"
    "Which library has that ?"
"Do I need to instance this or is it static ?"
All of theses can be answered by documentation, but who want to read the docs when you can ask chatgpt. (Copilot is better in my experience btw)

  • I never understood the obsession people have with mowning lawn. I find higher lawn to look better, greener. It's way less common to mow in europe where we have grass similar to what you are describing that don't need to be mowned.
And the fact that people can call the police for that and that home owner association can require you to do it is even weirder.

  • I've had free access to github copilot since beta and it's great, especially when working with unknown libraries or languages. I don't have to pull out documention and I can go on with the logic. Of course it often hallucinate, the code it spits out need to be checked, but still, it saves a lot of time.

  • It probably was a temporary link, it's broken to me too now. It was an image of the US put on top of europe. And the usa is huge.

I still think traveling to a place with a different language and political context make a huge difference, even with how wide the US is.
