  • If someone attacks Germany’s nuclear power plants the world as we know it won’t exist because nuclear weapons will launch ravaging most of the world.

Also you don’t need to attack every single solar panel, just the power distribution centers

  • Just about everyone can use help with sentence structure, like can you convey your point without help? Sure, but your point can be conveyed clearer and with less effort on your part.

It’s like the benefit of autocorrect you can reread your whole email a few times and double check a few questionable words to make sure everything is spelled perfectly or we can have this integrated tool that highlights words that should be fixed and lets you quickly fix those words.

For bullshit corporate emails I personally see very little negative in using a chatbot to make your words sound more professional besides just more of a brain rot

  • “AI” or as they were called for the longest time machine learning algorithms can do things like spell check and help with grammar.

The more modern algorithms that they started really calling AI can help format your ideas, can fix sentence structure, and can even translate into foreign languages

Email is probably the most useful place for AI as most of the ones we talk about today are really good at language formatting but don’t really have any intelligence

For example you can write an email cursing out your boss saying “as I fucking told you yesterday” and then ask the AI to rewrite your email in a professional tone so that it says “per my previous email” like sure you can obviously do that yourself but it’s a lot faster to word vomit your thoughts into a computer especially when it’s trivial work related garbage and save your mental energy for your personal time

  • By evil company standards that’s pretty benign

Like Hershey uses slave labor, Chiquita helped transport weapons for paramilitary groups, nestle well we have all heard about what nestle does.

Just about everything you listed that they do can be summed up as they vehemently protect their IP that while they are overkill they just aren’t even close to other video game companies like blizzard who protect sexual harassers

  • It doesn’t matter if it’s data, tariffs are meant to be protectionist so you could easily say that since Nintendo is headquartered in Japan or because the majority of their workers are in Japan or because their name sounds vaguely Japanese that all sales of their product in insert country here has to pay an additional 10% tax

  • Nintendo is one of the last game companies that actually release a finished product that’s not filled with micro transactions and your mad that they add an extra $20 to the price of something you will likely put hundreds of hours in as prices of everything have increased. Would you rather they release it for $60 but you have to pay an extra $5 for each character/vehicle/map like all the American companies are doing it

  • Public infrastructure can be built to handle it but it is significantly more expensive, and since a lot of public infrastructure is incredibly old you are damaging pipes and causing bills to go up for everyone in your area

  • Maybe our universities handled numbers differently but 300 level classes we’re never considered intro level classes but were instead classes usually taken in your 3rd year of school with a heavy amount of pre requisites and a 500 level would be a graduate class

  • I already mentioned that gold wasn’t the only option and talked about how other civilizations did it but the vast majority of the world used metals because they were the best. Nowadays it really doesn’t matter because the value of wealth in the world vastly exceeds what all the precious metals would be worth combined. But if all the nukes go off, society is destroyed, and technology is thrown back hundreds of years, then gold still has a purpose and people will happily barter for it since they know someone else will want it. Bitcoin will not have value.

You can try and come up with whatever justification you want but as you are just downvoting everything I say I am done arguing

  • I had to take a 300 level biochem class and 2 semesters of O Chem and we didn’t have to memorize the structures of all the amino acids. Like we had to know glycine and we had to know about the different amino acids like how proline has a rigid structure but we were never expected to be able to draw an amino acid from memory

  • Gold is pretty damn “cheap” to use as a currency it’s a softer metal with a lower melting point which allows it to be easily minted and then since its properties are somewhat unique it makes it harder to counterfeit without more complex technology. It is also rare enough that small bits of it can be used for currency so you don’t have to use something like the giant stone discs of yap. Some places used food for currency like rice or cocoa beans but those had too little value per unit of currency which made them annoying.

  • Texas had a 61% voter turnout with Trump only winning with 56% of the vote meaning that of all eligible voters only 34% voted for trump. So yes, even the voters in Texas who said my vote doesn’t matter because the state is going red anyway were wrong it only went red because all of them stayed home

  • The more you engage with a type of post the more they will give yo that type of post so go on tiktok or threads and just engage with a bunch of them and you will see more of it but just know that especially by engaging you will actively be worsening misinformation. I know you said 1: million doesn’t matter but especially if you are looking for source material your initial engagement could easily cause a post that would otherwise stay in those mini cults to get spread

  • Scenario: you just had armed militants break into your home and a firefight ensued killing your dog and SO and you have been dragged into the back of a van to be held hostage with a 25% death rate and there is a group of allied soldiers

    Would you rather they:

    A) do nothing B) fire on the vehicle possibly injuring/killing you
