  • I'm in Louisiana. We have inspections but I don't believe the actually matter. Take a quick walk through any parking lot and you'll find tons of cars that have both valid stickers and glaringly obvious problems that should keep them off the road.

  • Biden didn't weaponize the DoJ. At no point did he use it to attack opponents who hadn't committed crimes as decided by grand juries. During Trump's trials he was, at least publicly, hands off and let the AG do his thing.

Don't confuse Biden giving his son a pardon after conviction with Nixon firing multiple AGs until he got to one that was fine with him being a literal criminal and Trump trying to find one (and succeeding) that wouldn't release a report on how Trump is corrupt.

This is not a both sides thing.

  • The Attorney General leads the DoJ and is a member of the president's cabinet. The DoJ is also part of the executive branch. While it is "bad form" for the president to order the AG to do something, the president can fire the AG. Look up what Nixon did to find out more.

  • It seemingly has little impact. I've attempted to use LLMs a couple of times to ask very specific technical questions (on this specific model, running this specific OS version, how do I do this very specific thing) to try and cut down on the amount of research I would have to do to find a solution. The answer every time has been wrong. Once it was close enough to the answer I was able to figure it out but "close enough" doesn't seem worth bothering with most of the time.

When I search for things I always slip the AI summary at the top of the page.
