  • That's wild! In the states there's a similar issue with cost of living being vastly different in different areas of the country. I have a family member who does financial stuff for business but works from home. They ended up having to get a postal mailing address in a higher cost of living area so they could get fair wages since their normal address would make business offer only real low wages. It's asinine

  • I'd actually describe them as Blue/non-designated, it feels red-leaning recently with some of the stuff they are passing though

The fire department comes and checks stuff out really only when there's an issue. We do have test fire alarms though they never use the fire suppression system, mostly only the noise alarm. I'm unsure if they pull the same one or random ones for the test but either way, it wasn't good enough apparently.

  • Hmmm I guess we have two of different types

1: late into pandemic when inflation was really bad a bunch of the workers were super upset by their wages, management got together to get a solution. The plant supervisor called a meeting and told everyone there would be a "substantial raise", it was $0.20. Less than 1%

The second, more recent, a fire broke out after a maintenance repair went awry. Someone pulled the fire alarm and it failed to work. Someone pulled a second fire alarm, it failed to fully initiate the system. Then on the last attempt it finally went off but the fire suppression system and sprinkler system did go off but not over the actually burning area. This lead to a whole region of the building getting smelted and a big investigation on the fire suppression system. After it was resolved they asked employees to continue working their shift, even in the smoked out areas. The stench was horrible and probably carcinogenic lol

  • I think I just crave an IRL connection tbh. Both of my close friends recently (1 yr ago) moved further away so I only get to see them a few times a year now. My social life has been obliterated. That makes me sad :(

Also yes, the world seems unstable right now but there ain't much I can do, so I just have to learn to let it go.

  • TBH I stumbled into it and fell in love with it upon finding it. Not exactly how I recommend people find their career but it worked for me!

Out of highschool I quit my fast food job and my mother told me to find a new job after a week or so. A friend of a friend invited me to check out their work place (machine shop) and I was in love with the machines, so I applied there. I've been in the industry since!

It's been well over 10 years and I've only had 4 jobs so I can't really give advice on where to look or how to find anything that fits for someone. Especially not in an economically viable way

  • I did karate when I was real young but ended up trading it for gymnastics. Then as an early 20s adult I did BJJ. It was fun and great exercise. I have not done it in many years now but it (martial arts, and gymnastics for that matter) is great for developing knowledge of your body in space, made me a bit less of a clumsy person for sure

  • I got my first on my chest, below collar bone, above nipple. It seems to be real easy to cover. The ladies also love seeing just a little of it on a low cut shirt.

It didn't hurt very much, took roughly 3-4 hours and was easy to keep clean and moist for recovery

  • This, I have a discord but I legitimately only use it for personal calls with friends for gaming, no community stuff. Other than that, I'm clean off of everything else for the past, idk, maybe 4-5 years now?

  • Probably yes, there was a time I thought no. I've got a solid routine so I can pretty much guess exactly where I'll be in 5 years from now too. So, if I Still exist at that time, I can make a good guess
