Looking for games that will make me cry

Try SIGNALIS ! It is extremely depressive, emotional and evocative, and to an extent it is a homage to stuff like Silent Hill 2
I have to agree with this, for certain games limiting the saves is the correct answer honestly.
Something like the Fear and Hunger series wouldn't work as well with unlimited saves anywhere because a large part of the appeal is to have to struggle and power through horrible conditions, that would be lost if you could reload every time one of your pals got their arm cut off in a fight and stuff like that
That's a decently long list lol, Medieval 2, Rome 1, Rome 2, Attila, Napoleon, Shogun 2 sorta... (I don't dislike the ones not listed, I just vibe less with them)
If you count mods and expansions, the list gets much larger, Medieval 2 Kingdoms, Empire Divided, Age of Charlemagne, The Great War, Divide Et Impera, 1212, 1100, The Third Age... And there are even more that have piqued my interest but haven't had a chance to play.
Aaaah it's such a rich series!
For me, it's any of the Total War games I like, or Battlefield 1, or Left 4 Dead 2, or any From Soulslike.
I like to call them evergreen games, because I'm a total snob. The kinds of games that you can always go back to no matter how long it's been, that you always know how to play by instinct at this point, that always entertain, feel weirdly comfy and make for great choices when you don't know what you wanna do. God bless them.
exactly! you command the 5 ton murdermachine Mr Carman, fucking act like it jeez
I'm so utterly socially incompetent that I pretend I wasn't intending to cross and just keep going down my side of the street just to avoid this kind of interaction
Frustratingly, yeah, by a lot. Anyone who put money into a non-renewable energy etf at the lowest point of their prices in 2020 would have more than 2.5x their money by now.
Damn, I wish I had the discipline to model taking the future slicing & printing process into account instead of constantly winging it and going "I'll make it work later idk" lol
That looks pro as fuck, especially for FDM, I thought it was resin damn
For me, the main concern is that Epic doesn't have a system of purchasable keys, even after all these years. Most stores in PC have had a system with keys that has allowed users to purchase games from 3d party sites such as GreenManGaming and the like. That system has been one of the key reasons why prices have stayed in check in the platform, and why cool stuff like HumbleBundles exists.
Without this kind of system, every time a game is exclusive to the Epic platform, it, in effect, has a single price point with no possible competition or alternative, which is no different than a console ecosystem... And a lot of the pricing on those is not great, to say the least.
Until they have that, supporting the growth and consolidation of that store would be potentially shooting myself in the foot as a consumer.
EDIT - Turns out, I had my info somewhat outdated, this was introduced at some point recently, at least with some retailers.
However, on second check it doesn't apply to games with Epic Store exclusivity, apparently (or at least the ones I've checked). It seems to only apply to games that are not exclusive. So concern still valid, unfortunately.
If someone has more info about it I'd love to hear it because it looks unclear at the moment.
this looks so amazing what the fuck

[...] Tracking users’ browser history User agents will not provide any browsing information to attesters when requesting a token. We are researching an issuer-attester split that prevents the attester from tracking users at scale, while allowing for a limited number of attestations to be inspected for debugging—with transparency reporting and auditability [...]
Cross-site tracking
While attestation tokens will not include information to identify unique users, the attestation tokens themselves could enable cross-site tracking if they are re-used between sites. For example, two colluding sites could work out that the same user visited their sites if a token contains any unique cryptographic keys and was shared between their sites.
Good to see where your priorities lie in terms of user protection when deciding to launch this into conversation. Dude idk we'll fix it later don't worry bro
Non-goals [...] Enforce or interfere with browser functionality, including plugins and extensions. [...]
But guys they gave their pinky promise it's totally fine
let's just allow them to irreversibly make this change so that there is nothing preventing them from applying this totally Non-Goals in the future what could happen
It was inevitable after the response to Netflix's crackdown on account sharing and progressively higher prices.
That was a critical moment for the users to exercise their leverage against a new, worse direction in the value of streaming offerings, but the general user lacked the foresight to understand that.
Now that it's been proven that the general user will maintain their subscription even after such drastic changes in value, the trend of a loss of flexibility in tier options, the inclusion of ads in more, if not all, tier options; multi-month subscription requirements, and the complete loss of account sharing will all continue, not only in Netflix but accross all the streaming industry as a whole.
People were SO unfair to RE6 back in the day, in my opinion. I bet if it had not been associated with the series, it would be remembered as a ridiculous bombastic cult classic in the same vein as Metal Gear Rising. It may have issues but come on, it managed to have a super fun, super unique, super deep take on TPS gameplay, it is wonderfully over the top, it has stupid amounts of content...
But because it was called RE and didn't fit whatever mold the titles in the series should fit in the eyes of some, it was panned. Thankfully it has been looked at with different eyes in recent years.
The sentence "I lost my gear / They took my gear" has never been followed by a fun part in any videogame, ever
Thirding this, having a clearer idea of what kind of stuff you are going to print will help you a TON.
That's why I would suggest to dabble into modelling for a while first, see what kind of stuff you find more interesting/fun to make, and dial in your decisions from there. I say this, OP, because I was in your position of thinking about doing both resin for miniatures and FDM for buildings/dioramas/useful things... But I ended up doing mostly miniatures, because that's what I found most fun to do. So I would have been better served investing the FDM money in a bigger and better resin printer.
For software, since you mention that you may get a resin printer, I assume you are considering eventually making miniatures, characters, monsters, etc. If so, you will want to look into software that has sculpting tools. Blender has them, Fusion 360 as well, there are many others. I use ZBrush but a lot of people find it weird to use. Blender would probably be the best starting point because it is free, extremely well documented and has everything you need.
As a last note, if you are not familiar with this world, you should know that even with the best of printers, you should expect to spend a lot of time tinkering, troubleshooting and tuning. If your expectations are to assemble it and immediately start printing cool stuff, you will need to adjust them. It is a really fun hobby, but requires you to be willing to deal with days in which your prints suddenly come out wrong and have to spend the whole day debugging the issue instead of having fun.
Holy Shit Windows 11 just got Vista'd
If they're gonna make you work they have to compensate you for your time you know what I mean
Ah great hope you enjoy it I found it fantastic
