  • That’s a legitimate complaint, but if you bought it within the last 5 years or whatever, it’s possible they saw error and changed, assuming that’s the same part they used.

Or maybe, and I find this much more likely, the one you got on Amazon was disguised trash like everything else from Amazon and it’s not actually the OEM parts causing the issue since it’s always the same shitty part that fails. You got unlucky with the oem part, then bought trash on Amazon (basically everything on Amazon is knockoff, nothing is quality) and have been replacing it since.

If you bought the replacement pump from an OEM part supplier or other official supplier for replacements, and continued to have the issue, sure, but at this point you are giving an extended Amazon review as a review of the machine itself. And that’s not remotely fair to the unit, because Amazon is trash and won’t even let you post negative reviews anymore (try it, good luck).

  • Ha, I’m so sorry.

My sister was into classic rock, same as my parents, so it was easy to live with in that regard. Nobody knows what to do when you don’t care about music, though, so I tried to fit in and was actually the black sheep for it cuz if I heard it and didn’t actively dislike it, it was stuck there in my brain forever and people thought I liked it? (I have no ear for music, but I’m a natural born mimic/linguist, so it’s all very sticky to me even if I don’t speak the same language - Utada Hikaru, I’m mostly lookin at you girl! But also Ricky Martin, dmetri Malikov, ramstein, etc.)

Spice girls, incubus, Backstreet Boys, Manson, train, linkin park, and stone temple pilots, among tons more? Why not.

My music tastes are still super questionable for any given person because I have no music taste… it’s all just noise to me and I don’t have the ability to tune it out, so I know a lot of stuff, to an apparently impressive degree? People frequently say “I’ve never heard this” as I belt it out.

  • I am firmly within the demographic that should have heard that song (37) and I have yet to hear it in its entirety. I have only ever heard that refrain, ever.

I’m actively familiar with it, but managed to avoid it.

  • What do you define as “constantly”? Once a year, every two years, twice in 20 years?

Anecdotal, but I’ve had my lg washer, dryer, dishwasher, fridge, and gas stove for about 10 years and none of them have had any issues at all. I didn’t get them because I was super into LG, they were cheap - open box, dented, or floor model - and it just worked out that way, but still, zero issues with any of it.

Maybe it’s just that model tho, and that’s legit. Sometimes there’s just a shit offering, but the rest of the line is decent.

But a lot of times, parts fit multiple brand’s machines, or multiple models within the same brand. Especially something like a drain pump, which is super basic and could be used in dishwashers as well as literally all of their brand washers, for example. Solid chance the reason for the large number of reviews is compatibility with other models rather than lg sucking that hard for that model. But without knowing the exact part I can’t say.

  • The design is breathtakingly stupid.

And here I thought their shitty TVs were breathtakingly stupid and over complicated (seriously there are like 6 different fucking menu screens in different places, and best of luck remembering which one you need for something stupid simple like sleep timer..)

Then again, I’ve been avoiding Samsung since the tv incident 10 years ago.. apparently for the best..

  • I had a tornado the other day as part of my bedtime severe storm. Stopped like a few blocks from my place.

Not as relaxing as a standard thunderstorm, if I’m being honest.

  • Just wait until they realize they can claim anything they don’t want to deal with is a deepfake, and nobody will care, because by the time that’s proven to be factually incorrect the whole media cycle will have moved on.

  • As opposed to the US model of arbitrarily changing based on your employer, or whatever plans they choose to sponsor for you for a given year? Oh yeah, that’s in addition to whatever party’s in power tinkering with availability/access (look at mifepristone for an example)

What’s your point? “Your system isn’t perfect, reeeee!!!” Ok, and? How does this add anything, anything at all, to the conversation?

  • Not my copy, sadly, but it does have pretty fancy binding to make up for the lack of real blood.

  • You sound like you don’t have adhd, which makes routines like that a problem. I do, which is why I don’t recommend things with short battery life.

I’m just saying that not everyone is great with “one more device to charge every day” when all they need is a vibrating alarm and there are options that don’t require that.

  • Excellent, thank you, I just wanted to make sure because some people unironically believe this thing and.. well, anyway 🫡

  • Are you using that example because you know it happens?

Because you know that happens, right?

Lots of dudes are super butthurt (pun very much intended) that breast cancer gets all the awareness (eg pink athletic merch during breast cancer month), and not their man-only cancer which they don’t advocate for at all outside of complaining.

  • If someone buys it, it’s style. If not, they suck at painting.

    Isn’t art fun?

  • Punching up (nonviolently, as you say) is always valid.

  • If only the battery lasted more than a day, day and a half tops..

I’ve had numerous watches, just because I need an alarm on me for medications (ranging from cheap $30 models, through Fitbit/athletic watches, up to the Apple watch), and they basically all have the vibration feature. The Apple Watch has probably the worst battery life of any of them I’ve tried, and I’ve tried really hard to extend it..

Some of the really dirt cheap ones you pair with the watch, set the alarms, then unpair (because they are cheap Chinese brands with all sorts of tracking if you use the app), and the battery on the watch is good for like a week. If you want to keep the shitty app running, or have a spare device to pair it with, you can change alarms on the fly.

Either way, I wouldn’t recommend an Apple Watch to someone who just wants a vibrating alarm. They are not good for that single use, unless you actually want all the other stuff it does and are fine with the crap battery life. Same with any major smart watch. If all you need is an alarm, they are super overkill and just one more thing to keep charged.

  • Growing up (90s), in the middle of a dense suburban/semi-urban area, my mom would melt holes into the top of peanut butter jars with an awl, and we’d put some grass and shit in them and fill them with dozens of fireflies to make fairy lanterns. She would let them out when we fell asleep and said the fairies only stay until dawn, which I was never up for.

I saw a firefly the other day and was absolutely thrilled. It’s been so so long since I’ve seen them. Then again it was during the day so it might have been something else..
