If you think your insurance company isn’t selling your data to other companies, you are in for a surprise.
My insurance company, for example, requires so many permissions for their app, just to show my insurance coverage. I refuse to use it because they don’t need my contacts, calendar, use details, phone information, location, network status, and whatever else they are asking for. They have no use for this information, so why would they collect it? Oh right, because they are greedy and consider customers to be multiple revenue streams.
Part of the privacy policy for using the app is agreeing to be a product for them. Hard pass. I give them more than enough money considering they have never paid out a single fucking penny for anything (tho we’ll see how I feel tomorrow when the adjuster comes out to inspect the storm damage to my roof - probably the same.)
If a scammy company like insurance is doing a thing, you can bet they are not being benevolent. They are taking whatever you give them and it will fuck you eventually.
How would one go about setting up a win 98 at this point? Do you need an ISO of it already, or can you find that somewhere for that specific use?
I ask because I have a game that I want to play for nostalgia reasons (it’s a kids game from waaay back, but I remember it fondly, and I bet I’d do a touch better now) but I can’t get it to play in any compatibility mode or anything. It just flat refuses to launch.
A surprising lot of them are re-skinned, actually, so that’s a legit thing. Depending on your definition of pelt.
Lots of cans that were printed for discontinued lines, or printed before a label change, have plastic sleeves over the can to re-brand them, even when the label on the old and new is identical..
That’s fair, I am. I never had access to adult swim; I came across it on Netflix when they were first streaming stuff and they got rid of it pretty quickly. Took me forever to track down a copy of it back then, so with nobody I’ve asked knowing what it was, I assumed it was more obscure.
Plex may be counting the shows and animated movies then, along with the movies. My server currently shows 63 things tagged marvel, and I haven’t added anything in a while, nor do I have many of the animated series, cuz I just don’t really want it, there’s so much.
I’m not really picky, I’ve enjoyed most of the stuff I’ve watched, but traditional superheroes specifically can get stale pretty quickly. Still, if it’s an edgier more adult take that might be worth it.
It’s obscure to the people I know; I have no other gauge on these things. But in fairness, that is why I put “apparently obscure” in my original comment :)
It’s on my Plex server as well and has been for a really long time, but that’s not unexpected there :p
I’ll keep that in mind if I’m ever feeling adventurous and in a superhero mood. Mostly because you are advocating for it well, and I can appreciate that that typically comes from somewhere. Thank you for the recommendation :)
I did kinda like MCU basically through endgame (just the movies, some of the shows were good too, but I don’t think they were really relevant) and then it just got to be too much for too long.. what are they up to now like 90 movies? Last I checked it was in the 60s, since they fully claim all their old movies now as canon, and I’m not even counting the animated stuff there… so much. I’ve seen most of them but I can’t even keep track anymore.
Haven’t really managed to get into DC stuff, tbh. I’m sure I have several of the DCAMU but haven’t watched any of them. Their universe is too… all over the place to have ever caught me in the following (lots of reboots/retellings with new cast, which I strongly dislike for immersion reasons)
But often when I find a movie series like that I’ll watch them like a mini-series. I throw them into a collection and watch back to back. Sometimes I’ll do that with live action movie series too, but they are harder to get into. Animated movies can be visually consistent years apart in a way that live action usually just can’t.
This is basically my experience too. I don’t really like movies. They feel rushed and empty, and I want to exist within a story for a long time, like video games. And like video games, and books, I strongly prefer sci-fi/fantasy.. tho the type of sci-fi does matter.. the really dystopian stuff is not my jam at the moment, because of the actual world.
Animated movies are sort of an exception for me, in that I do watch those much more frequently than live action, but they tend to tell much more simplified stories, in a visually more approachable way. You can’t immerse for long periods, but it’s a quick fall into it, and generally quite fantastical in nature.
Ooooh yes, and the other way around too. I’ve watched an absolute assload of apparently obscure bullshit, but absolutely never the same obscure bullshit people want me to have seen.
