  • We should ban it! BAN DIHYDROGEN MONOXIDE! ANYONE WHO DRINKS IT DIES!

  • Wash that down with a Diet Coca-Cola™. Vitamins keep the bubbles fizzy!

  • Which is why people should scrub their comments. A lot of people are holding on to "The good times." with their posts and comments. It doesn't matter if reddit can technically undo the work, I'm still going to check and make sure it stays gone. Without that content, reddit is nothing.

  • In my years at reddit, I think I private messaged a single person. It was such a non-existent thing for me and honestly until I saw this, I forgot reddit even had that functionality.

  • It was also a fantastic, albeit kind of useless as you're giving THEM money, way to bring visibility to posts that needed it... And now I see why they might be doing this. It's like when Youtube removed dislikes. They want the corporate fee-fees to not be hurt so they remove the methods that allow us to express our dislike for something.

  • Dude, a small spoon of cottage cheese on a Lay's original potato chip. It's so amazing.

  • I remember when Jennifer Lawrence was the hottest shit according to reddit. Then she said something that reddit didn't like and suddenly she's the worse.

  • You don't really get it, do you? Most of the mods in their respective communities cared about fostering a thriving community for their interests. Yes, power hungry mods who only do it out of power tripping exist, but those mods are the ones who are likely staying. The passionate ones, the ones who made the site, are leaving.

So now when everyone's favorite subreddit gets installed with a bunch of new power-hungry mods, things aren't going to be quality. There will be tons of shit flinging, tons of splitting the userbase and the general quality of the community will cease existing.

Free labor is replaceable. But passionate people are not.

  • Last time I posted this hot take, reddit absolutely buried me. But hey, I stand by my gaming opinions!

  • Mine? Mystic Quest was fine. It was a fine game. Was it amazing? No. Easy as heck but the charm and personality of the game is just so great. The music slaps, the world is fun even if it is restricted to linear paths. People treat it like it's the most brazen insult to JRPGs. It's just not true. It's a perfectly average game that is a fun beat-it-in-a-day game.

  • A lot of people misinterpret the infamous laughing scene. They think it comes out of left field and is out of place... And that's what it's trying to do. It's supposed to be awkward. Tidus is trying to help Yuna release her anxiety by goofily laughing like a lunatic. Does this make the voice acting suddenly great? Nah not really. Also FFX's combat is the best. Being able to see who's turn is next, as well as which abilities might delay a turn. Really fun!

  • Remember the Real-Money Auction House in Diablo 3? This seems very much like that...

And I bet it's going to go the way of the RMAH.

  • They... did.. But every quest is "Go to specific type planet, find X amount of clues, then go do special boss battle."

  • 2016 was the turning point of me being a stupid and proud "Non-voter" to being a loud and proud voter. If I have to thank Trump for anything, it's for showing me how stupid our society is and we need to do everything we can to undo the damages he has wrought.

  • The RS Wiki is amazing and should be the shining example for wikis. As shitty as Jagex can be, they did a really awesome thing to help keep it going.

  • It's people like Spez and Elon who would be the first to die off in a post-apocalyptic scenario. Their "Smarts" won't do shit if they don't know how to survive. Not to mention high profile people will likely be the first on the chopping blocks.

  • Honestly stopped caring about Reddit years ago. Mostly just used it to keep up to date on game releases. As long as I have a community-ran source for gaming news, I'm pretty happy.

  • And even then, it's lukewarm at best. I mean, Tiktok is still stupidly popular.

  • It's a game of Jenga and Spez won't let you take your turn. There's no way he can win it.
