  • Yeah I was going to say: who's this guy?

Found this after a very quick search: https://www.npd.com/about-npd/industry-experts/mat-piscatella/

Mat Piscatella’s career has spanned the entertainment software industry, including tenure with Warner Bros and Activision. His industry experience ranges from business planning, analysis, and forecasting to operational and strategic planning. A self-proclaimed “game geek,” Piscatella has worked in the industry for close to 15 years.

Video game brands he has worked on include Call of Duty, LEGO, Batman: Arkham, Guitar Hero, DreamWorks, Mortal Kombat, and Marvel. Piscatella regularly works with key industry trade associations and is collaborating with colleagues on new initiatives for NPD. He has extensive experience presenting to and advising senior leadership for the video game industry.

His experience outside of entertainment software include marketing and sales roles for IRI and Banana Boat Suncare. He has an MBA in marketing from San Diego State University, and a BA in political science from California State University, San Bernardino.

  • True question: bamboo, rayon, viscose, tencel, etc... are "natural" product artificially polymerized. Aren't these similar to plastics in the sense of a polymerized chain?

Does it degrades faster than "traditional" plastics? I'll have to look into that.

And I otherwise completely agree with you. I'm now only buying if cotton/linen/wool. However hard to find clothes made 100% with these. :(

  • If I'm not mistaken Guyana already have deals with both Chinese and US (Exxon? Can't remember) oil companies for petrol extraction.

So the US could just defend their interest.

But I think leaving it up to Brazil would be much smarter.

  • The problem is that, apparently the software support is lacking.

It seems security updates are (very) slow to come.

It's a shame because the concept is very interesting and was thinking of taking the fairphone 5 as my next phone. However the bad feedback regarding updates made me look into another model

  • Damn I was also thinking of taking the FP5, but your report of it being sluggish really make me reconsider.

It's really a shames they do a home run on everything else and then fails just on the UX at the end...

Edit: ans reading below, slow and irregular security update is even worse....

  • I played the first two, but not Arkham Knight.

I've heard a lot of good thing about the batmobile addition in it and would love to use this opportunity to test it out :)

Never touched the "shadow of..." license but heard a lot of good as well. Curious to try them out as well (even if batman probably more my thing).

  • Hadn't had much news on bungie since I left Destiny when discovered the hybrid cashgrab/turd that was Lightfall. Reddit was my main source of info, so leaving it for Lemmy didn't help.

I had no idea they went trough a massive layoff.

It's a shame, most of what I had against D2 was clearly management-related and the team feelt so talented (Arts, Gameplay, story...).

  • Ah they kept the graphical choice of Planetary Annihilation... Not my favorite (I know, purely personal taste).

Like the idea a lot thought. Could be fun to have a "two mans team" mode where you can split the tasks however you want (two different fronts with production and battle? One full production and one commander? Etc..)

Wasn't Planetary Annihilation developed by Uber? I need to take a look a the kickstarter. Thanks for the share!
