  • I bought the original on my iPhone 4 and still have it in my purchase history, but when I download it on my iPad today it’s full if ads and limited lives….

    What am I doing wrong?

Edit: it’s called Angry Birds Classic now if that makes a difference

  • By your logic, if I release a drug not mentioning it will kill you while knowing it will, I am not guilty of false advertisement even if I send it out for free knowing this will be published.
Murder sure, but not false advertisement.

If a game is being sent out without a performance limiting software with a clear plan of introducing this for the retail version, I would argue it follows the actual definition.

Quote: «the crime or tort of publishing, broadcasting, or otherwise publicly distributing an advertisement that contains an untrue, misleading, or deceptive representation or statement which was made knowingly or recklessly and with the intent to promote the sale of property, goods, or services to the public».

It’s deceptive. There is no arguing it. You seem like a bright dude arguing a moot point in to deep to accept being wrong.

  • Of course it is.
Them sending a copy of a game in the hopes the media outlet will write a favourable review is marketing 101.
It's practically free marketing, so it's the best kind even.

If the review came after launch from a purchased copy, then your argument would have had a leg to stand on mate.

  • Ok.

I don't know if you wallow in self pity or if you've actually tried it all, but I'm gonna let you make the calls for your life.

I wish you the best regardless and know that it's never to late to change your mind, friend.

  • So you answered my questions, but at the same time you didn't.

Congrats on losing 80 lbs! That's a massive job well done. Are you still overweight?
If so, keep at it! Every pound lost makes you look better, feel better, live longer and healthier.

Facial hair: Who said it looked good? Who said it looked bad?
Did several people compliment it, but one or two tore your self image back down?
If it really was bad: Try something new.

I don't know and won't ask any personal questions, but are these deformities impossible to hide or improve upon?
I do not mean surgery, but facial hair, hair, clothing or even make-up?

It's always your choice if you wish to give up or not, but as long as you seem to have a semblance of hope I'm gonna try to be a positive in your life.

  • It’s hard to say what you could do to improve your situation without knowing you, and your diagnoses cannot be «fixed».
Being hit with the ugly stick however is something you can work on.
Do you excersize and stay in decent shape?
    Do you groom regularly?
Do you pay attention to what you wear (no need to blow loads on fashion, but in general)?

All of those combined could bring you up a point or two, but your main issue is probably your lack of confidence, which is very understandable.

Confidence in who you are and you being awesome is, in my experience, everything.
You can fake it, but to truly build it you need to come to terms with the facts and love yourself.

  • The statement about a massive majority of iPhones in the Nordics is factually incorrect.
iPhone has a slight lead at one of the biggest vendors Komplett, but that is without counting the remaining 10 % which is almost exclusively Android units.
For clarity: Komplett operates in all the Nordic countries, but I would assume these numbers are for Norway, the richest of the bunch.

It's the same story at work where I am the responsible party for company phones: Pretty evenly distributed where some of the iPhones are chosen due to MLM solutions for those wishing certain solutions.

I can only speak for my own age group in my personal life, but I would say Android has a quite big lead with young adults.
Kids/teens might be a completely different story though.

  • I'm not sure if Lemmy collapses heavily downvoted posts like Reddit does, but if it does it is also playing a part in creating an echo chamber.

I personally don't have a very strong opinion about up-/downvotes but in general I try to stick to only downvoting comments that are not contributing or down right hostile. I refuse to downvote a comment that is attempting to discuss something in a proper manner, even if I completely disagree.

I get your point about it being harder to agree than disagreeing with this type of mindset though, so it's not perfect.

  • You calling me ignorant while displaying a complete lack of understanding of basic history is just sad.

I don't support your proven oppressive and evil form of rule. I never will and most people won't. You can keep telling yourself that we are all vicious evil capitalists for disagreing with you, but I guarantee you I support more socialist causes than you ever will.
