  • Too bad "dark" Brandon couldn't appoint a competent attorney general. Or stand up to the Israeli genocide. It so any of the important things that could have prevented voters not caring to turn out, having felt abandoned and ignored... But at least he said some things

  • Bloated administration took advantage of the guaranteed federal money that was the idiotic fix for exploding college prices after the public funding stopped. Which only made prices increase more

  • No. Not being destitute doesn't automatically make you rich. Things are not black and white. There's a wide spectrum that is very flat until you get to the top 0.1%.

Bring in the top 10% doesn't mean much when the different between top 99 and top 90 is multiple orders of magnitude larger than top 90 to top 10.

So with the bullshit down and gloom, that's how they get away with never fixing anything. It's also a lot easier to trace insider trading when they go through a proxy.

  • Oh man, were just speed running this recommend, aren't we? It's weird when people who, fully aware of how the French dealt with this "let them eat cake" bullshit... Actively work to recreate that scenario that didn't end well for their counter parts

  • Because Reagan defunded public secondary education. And then instead of fixing that in the late 90s/early 00s, they made school loans non expungable and federally guaranteed, so schools didn't need to keep their prices low and competitive anymore.

It always goes back to Reagan...

  • Our election system mathematically guarantees there will be only two useful choices. Any attempt to swap one of those out requires years of transition in which you are actively helping the side who agrees with you even less to win and move you further away from what you want.

Until we have more ubiquitous ranked-choice-esque systems, that will not change.
