  • I do this because all too often book print is tiny whereas I can adjust font size on a digital page.

I love physical books, but accessibility is sometimes a problem.

  • EndeavourOS club! Gorgeous blend between granular control and reasonably configured initial guardrails for a willing-to-learn new Arch user.

I played around with other distros too, before settling into this one. Haven’t looked back after 2-3 years of use so far.

  • I don’t believe you can - it’s an indicator that a particular account is new if I understand correctly.

  • It’s technically there on a separate drive entirely, but I haven’t touched it in at least a year. Probably gonna have to when I need to brush up for my cert renewal though

  • Receipts/modlogs is one of the many best things about this place

  • Propane Gothic

  • I’d frame that. Hard to think of a compliment that tops that to be honest

  • I’m gonna sound like a boomer but cigarettes and not using PPE, including with recreational activities such as motorcycling and hobby crafts.

Becoming a meat crayon isn’t worth “looking cool.”

  • Like I said, my understanding of South American politics is limited.

While Wikipedia can be prone to bias of course, it seems Maduro has been described as an autocrat and the UN has put Venezuela on human rights watchlists, and Venezuelans have fled the country for reasons similar to what the US seems to be aiming to achieve in the past three months.

Arguably it can be considered evil to force those kidnapped back into the same country they tried to flee instead of freeing them and offering them asylum, but here we are.

  • TL;DR:

Bukele says he’ll free the ~250 kidnapped/wrongfully imprisoned Venezuelans, if Maduro releases the same number of Venezuelans from Venezuelan prisons - primarily imprisoned political dissidents.

Bukele’s administration also is pushing for wrongfully imprisoned passport holders from other nations to be freed from Venezuelan prisons, though it’s less clear if that’s a stipulation of the same agreement.

Overall it’s not the most heinous thing I’ve seen, but my understanding of South American politics is limited as someone from North America.

  • Keep learning, keep trying new things, keep seeking out the perspectives of others (outside of these coworkers of course).

The older people I know who aren’t stubborn and slowing down are the ones who follow the above.

  • Ooblets!

Take a cross between Pokémon and Stardew Valley, make the fights dance battles, and toss in some Slime Rancher aesthetics and you have Ooblets.

  • There’s an American comedian, Gary Gulman, who has a joke something along the lines of “Pop Tarts were invented as a way to say ‘fuck you’ to poor people.”

They are objectively terrible; given mainly to the children whose parents did not have the time to make them breakfast, or could not afford a better meal. Fondness for them comes from nostalgia, most likely.

  • As much as I hate to say this in response to your comment, self diagnosis is valid.

Mostly the context is for people without resources, however, so your point is fair. Taking away validity for marginalized groups’ experiences is at risk with that stance though.

Thanks if you read this and I hope you have a great day otherwise. /gen

  • Yeah lol that’s like an over-skirt/tutu sort of deal that was painted the wrong color. Should be a lighter shade of blue (according to branding, since the movie dress was originally white)

  • I bet they can hear a butterfly sneeze from across the neighborhood 😆

  • There’s an empty wheel in his head, for he ate the hamster.

  • What’s Queen Ruby unfairly being made to wait for this time? (joking of course)

  • The 1980s version of Time Bandits is made by the Monty Python team for a family audience!
