In a fantasy world I'd go even further to say if you amass $1 billion in wealth you have it all taken away. So either you consistently give away your wealth to keep it below that level or pray that you helped build a society where losing it all isn't a death sentence.

In this thread alone I saw someone try to justify it by saying it's an important medical supply. Something like arsenic or cyanide might do a better job of killing people but then why would people start dropping like flies? Painkillers are a hot commodity around the world so it wouldn't surprise me at all if it was meant to be smuggled in and the wrong people discovered it. Given everything Israel has done so far it seems more likely they're trying to sew chaos rather than an enterprising dealer trying to tap a forgotten customer base.

With everything he does the issue is the implementation. Deport criminal aliens? I'm all for it, but most of the deportees have no criminal record or they accuse them of crimes as if it's the same thing as a conviction.

Part of Trump's grand plan is to make federal elections span only a single day. So maybe you check your status the day before and everything is fine, but the day of voting a glitch in the system says it can't verify your citizenship. That's it! No votes for you this year!

They wouldn't so callously hurt this many people if they thought elections would change anything.

They shipped out Kilmar Abrego Garcia for something a cop said in 2019 based on an unidentified informant and they make up new lies about him all the time. They're absolutely not above lying that someone falsified information on their naturalization papers.

If you do work out a deal make sure it's the "Obama rate" and explicitly call it that.

Same at my company. The frustrating part is they want us to use coding assistance, which is fine, but I really don't code that much. I spend most of my time talking to other teams and vendors, reading docs, filing tickets, and trying to assign tasks to Jr devs. For AI to help me with that I need to either type all of my thoughts into the LLM which isn't efficient at all or I need it to integrate with systems I'm not allowed to integrate with because there are SLOs that need to be maintained (i.e. can't hammer the API and make others experience worse).

So it's pretty much the same as it's always been. Instead of making a gallon of lemonade out of one lemon I need to use this "new lemonade machine" to start a multinational lemonade business.

But there's no such legislation or required identification for my kids to see graphic violence and gore. We're a pretty bass ackwards society.

With this and FEMA being drawn down I'm guessing Trump wants to create cheap real estate for his rich friends to buy up. If you can't rebuild you'll move and take what you can get for the rubble you used to call home.

Follow the money. I guarantee a private company was involved and they probably do some kind of business in Canada. Make sure they're completely booted from the Canadian market.
