At this point, not arming up for fear of reprisal is just as ridiculous as not criticizing the government for fear of reprisal. Use your fucking rights or lose them.

If you mean a "National ID" then Republicans have been against that for reasons of "freedom" and some stupid Bible reference.

If you mean why do Americans have such hard times acquiring an ID? Well, that's by design, because a very powerful minority hate democracy. There's probably millions of people that live over an hour away from the nearest ID issuing office and/or their closest office is open only a few hours a week (yes, per week). There's also plenty of instances of people being unable to sufficiently "prove" they are who they say they are because they don't have their own birth certificate and can't afford to buy it.

We're barely even a Republic anymore and we were probably never a Democracy.

It's one thing if we were gonna slash government jobs and outsource to private entities for pennies on the dollar. We're not doing that though. We're snatching the government-issued parachutes off people's backs and shouting, "The Free Market will save you!" just before we kick them out of the plane.

That only works if truly nobody is "backed" by a larger organization. Taking away party affiliation just makes it harder to identify where a candidates loyalties lie.

Someone should put up Trump's picture and all of his crimes with the heading "AT LARGE".

Creating minor inconveniences isn't newsworthy, but an elected official getting arrested is.

Then couldn't that give instances free reign to start creating fake votes?

Because private equity would never use the opportunity to buy up all the extra units, further controlling the market, and ensuring their existing inventory doesn't suddenly tank in value. /s

At work I was recently told to watch a "training video" about AI that was made entirely with AI. Nobody seemed to get the irony of a video, made for humans, more or less made by an AI, on why you should use a different AI (we don't have access to the video making tools). We're basically gaslighting ourselves.

Fortunately/unfortunately well so far. Very few have died from this so, like COVID, they'll probably feel justified that they were either stuck at home for a week or in the hospital only a few days and completely avoided that "dangerous shot".

I don't live in bumpfuck nowhere, I live just outside a major metropolitan city. My wife had to wait 3 months to get her DL renewed and she had to drive over an hour to get to the office, IN A DIFFERENT FUCKING CITY!

Verification of citizenship is already done, the burden just isn't on the citizen. You have to provide a lot of information to register and if it doesn't check out you won't get registered or you'll be arrested if you falsified something. Successfully registering when you're not a citizen requires either big lapses on the govt side or extensive personal info from a US citizen. This is why immigrants voting, legal or illegal, is incredibly rare.

The content of the article could be just the title and it would still royally piss off Trump. This is the way.
