As of a lonely 19yo couldn't have easily succumbed to the same fate. Heck, I was at my most depressed at 22.

That "No Tax on Overtime" pitch makes perfect sense now.

They don't need Trump at all, just someone that lies with every fiber of their being.

If a restaurant is gonna say "20% is the new 18%" I'm not gonna budge. It's a percentage. Food goes up then so does the tip.

Controlling the Internet this way is brilliant from an authoritarian standpoint. To have a revolution you need motivation and communication. Can't be motivated to change your government if you're not informed and you can't organize in great enough numbers if you can't communicate. Take note America.

Just some napkin math, if you make $50k a year and reached the $25k threshold you'd get back about $5k in taxes. Not nothing, but they're also gonna make it harder to get SNAP and Medicaid benefits. If you don't qualify (i.e. jump through every hoop) for the latter that $5k is gone and then some. People are about to get more stingey with tipping too I imagine.

To be somewhat fair, businesses don't need a significant event in order to raise prices. I consider this kind of "open collusion". Nobody is meeting in secret to make these decisions but everyone is looking around the room and nodding at each other.

I saw the video and that's some bullshit. He was outside the gate in the parking lot. If I'm protesting on the steps in front of the USDA the security guards don't have the authority to cuff me and drag me inside the facility. At best they would detain me outside until the police arrived. They did what they did because it was the scariest thing they thought they could get away with.
