UAW expands strike as nearly 9,000 workers walk off job at Ford's largest plant

  • UAW factories don't make affordable economy cars anyway. In fact, the Big 3 abandoned that segment altogether in favor of higher margin trucks and SUVs. They didn't choose to strike at the plants that build the Wrangler and Bronco randomly. Chinese EVs are slowly taking over Europe because they offer more car for less money. Our steep tariffs are the only thing preventing a Chinese takeover of the US market that would dwarf the Japanese invasion of the 80s.

  • How is the dairy industry in India? I would assume it is nowhere near as cruel as it is in the West, where sadistic practices are incorporated at every stage of the process in the name of efficiency.

  • Not only do they make way more per hour worked but they also get healthcare, paid sick leave, and a retirement plan. A gig worker is precariously teetering on the edge of disaster with no recourse if they are unable to meet their required daily deliveries to pay for living expenses.

  • It's sobering to think that those of us with this mindset would have had kids anyway if we were born a few decades earlier. Society all but coerced everyone to marry someone of the opposite sex and reproduce regardless of their wishes.
