I got hired by a small start up a couple years back and was basically responsible for an entire platform from top to bottom. High stress? Oh you bet your ass! But god damn having full control and building out huge solutions that customers were using and giving exuberant feedback on were highs I have yet to achieve in other settings. I suffer from imposter syndrome constantly and being in that space helped reassure me I did in fact know what I was doing and was actually pretty damn good at it. The startup failed, which of course sucked, but in the end it was for the better.
They were big with the rollerblade community as it was a way to grind rails without rollerblades. I was in the skater / rollerblade clique in my HS and they were relatively popular. Since I had the coordination of a 2 legged cow I went for heelys. I was cool in my own mind at least...
I'm not sure what your profession is but I worked a relatively easy job and 60 hours killed me, plus killed any semblance of family life I had. You're not home, and when you are you're too exhausted to do anything. With a physically gruelling job I'd imagine it would be even worse l.
I'd actually never heard this angle but sounds legit. Cutting corners sounds pretty typical of talking head yltyoes that want to try to cut costs no matter what.
I'll be honest I find the ray tracing shit s gimmick that eats up too much resource. I'd much rather just have some awesome games to play, with good looks or not. PC gaming for me has always been about variety anyway. The console looking better never meant anything.
This fucking moron. So he shuts down green energy initiatives here, tries to push oil, then tries to force other countries to buy dirty energy. Fucks sake man it's something new every day.
Hey, help is help, don't let his failings mean that your success is somehow tarnished. I get the sentiment as well. He was a little over the top for my taste but the reboot of Arthus he did still ranks pretty high on my list.
My wife is similarly aged than me. I was raised around computers and she was not. It's a chore to get her to actually send me a URL or tell me where she is so I can actually get a full browser experience. I've slowly been converting her over and trying to show her the benefits of browsing online.
Pediatric. Oncologist. That dude is an absolute hero and treasure for taking on such a horrible and bleak profession. I hate that those words are combined in existence at all. God I'm so ashamed to be an American.
I'd go back to the 90s and go to a live performance of Daft Punk. Their concerts were absolutely crazy, live remixes, etc. when I was alive during that time I wasn't old enough to even know who they were so it's not like I 'missed out'.
If we're going the selfish self-serving route I'd def buy stock in yahoo / google. Then would travel to 5 years ago and reinvest that money into renewables and influence into politics to hopefully steer us away from the shit we are dealing with now.
Oooo Id also go back and look up all the oil baron assassins and counter assassinate them so electric would actually take hold in the 80s like it was supposed to.
