My washing machine tells me how long it'll take, so there's no guesswork here.
Washing machines exist that are smarter than just running a fixed program. They adjust the program, and thus duration, based om how dirty the clothes are. The same goes for dryers that look at the actual humidity of the clothes to determine if they’re finished.
If you're having trouble with Torx, buy better screws and bits.
Last year I needed to do some hardwood construction outdoors. On the advise of a carpenter I ordered some high quality stainless steel Torx screws online. They don’t sell these in the consumer-oriented DIY store. They were awesome, much harder than the cheap screws, that would easily bend when driven into hardwood, much sharper as well and if you buy a box of 100 or more it comes with a bit which fits perfectly. So much easier to use than the overpriced crap from the DIY store.
I’m a software engineer and while I do have 2 monitors I have absolutely no RGB anything. Just a nice clean setup. My main monitor is on a wall-mounted arm so it appears to just float above my desk. My MacBook is hidden behind the other monitor, which is in portrait and on an arm so it floats just above my desk. Wireless mouse and keyboard (magic mouse and magic keyboard with numeric, both in black/aluminium), no visible wires. One single thunderbolt cable to connect my MacBook to a dock that’s hidden below my desk, which hooks up to my monitors, ethernet, amplifier, etc.
Dogs have been bred for blind obedience and unconditional love towards humans. This is one of the reasons I prefer cats. A cat likes you (or not) by choice. A dog literally cannot do anything else, it’s bred into its genes. Even then, you have to keep a dog on a leash or train it not to wander off. My cat can go out whenever she wants and she comes back every time, zero training required.
you basically have to teach yourself how an alien race might process the world to be able to understand their behaviour.
I’m autistic. A common explanation of how we experience the world is like being born on the wrong planet; people look like me, but they all behave in strange and alien ways. For me, cats are much easier to deal with than dogs. I’ve heard cats been described as ‘autistic dogs’. Research has also shown that autistic children like cats more than they like dogs. If autistics are born on the wrong planet, then cats must be from the same planet as us.
