His GP was honestly just trying to get his diabetes under control, and had no reason to think this would happen. He's not obese in the slightest and has never been more than 5 pounds overweight, he just has bad genetics for it. I just think that it's been marketed so heavily it seems to be a go to and we're just starting to really see what it does.

And they have no real reason for it ever. It just seems to be obstinate behaviour because they don't want to be told what to do.

Nurses not getting vaccinated is an unreal phenomenon, isn't it? I work in a hospital, and some nurses who worked with COVID ECMO patients refused the COVID vaccine and got let go. How could you look at these people withering away and not want to be protected?

The flu shot is super important. I read about a preteen boy in Ohio whose parents didn't get him vaccinated, and he got influenza, and immediately got bacterial pneumonia and died, and his mother is wailing about how fast it all happened. Um, it didn't need to happen at all, they don't give them out for fun! I've thankfully never had it myself.

It actually is more complex than that and the makers of Ozempic didn't disclose this side effect.

Not at all. He's diabetic; Ozempic basically caused his gastric muscles to stop working, which is called gastroparesis. He began vomiting and having diarrhea over a period of days, and became unable to take his diabetic meds because he couldn't keep anything down. I came home and found him basically comatose, and he was in a state called euglycemic diabetic ketoacidosis, which is a new thing with all the Ozempic type drugs, where your sugars aren't all that high but the severity of your condition is masked by the Ozempic, and you end up overproducing ketones in your blood because your sugar is out of control. The ketosis part reversed quickly with IV insulin, but the gastroparesis and associated esophagitis from all the vomiting meant he had to stay in hospital for quite some time. He has permanent damage to his gastric system. The makers of the drug didn't disclose this and it's turned up in several others; my GP friend had two patients with the same situation. So they're all in a lawsuit, and I'm super leery of these drugs.

Botox is actually super helpful for a number of legitimate medical reasons, which a lot of people don't know. Migraines, limb contractures, anal fissures as a few examples.m

And like, the ingredients of the COVID vaccine are like, totally top secret.

There's a story on one of the medicine subreddits where a mom brought her kid to ER for whatever viral syndrome, refused vaccination because she objected to the toxins in them, and then asked the staff to watch her kid so she could go smoke.

I just got prescriptions from my GP for the pneumococcal and RSV vaccines because it turns out that I qualify. Anything I can get vaccinated for I do, because fuck antivaxxers.

I know someone who is a 60 year old smoker who went and lied to public health that she was a sex worker to get the MPOX vaccine, which makes me laugh, but i wouldn't mind it myself because you can get it touching surfaces.

I had one with a bottom freezer and also a side by side and hated them both. A traditional top door freezer really is the best.

As a fellow woman I have no idea either. I just feel like Gwyneth Paltrow is involved SOMEHOW by default.

It's a really good idea to learn what narcissists and people with BPD are like, because being in a relationship with them is often life destroying, and learning to recognize the warning signs and get out once you begin to realize what they are is the key to not wasting your life on someone who has little regard for you as a human. People with BPD CAN improve, kind of, I still think you should be extremely leery of them, narcissists will wreck your life and make you think it's all your fault, without a qualm, and never improve because they don't care if they hurt you. They will both discard you and then try to lure you back in when they need their emotional "supply" or want something else from you. There is NOTHING you can do for a narcissist, so get out before they make it impossible for you to do so. It's definitely more of a buzz word these days, but if someone you are in a relationship with has chronically toxic and manipulative behavior to you, gaslights you, somehow makes everything your fault, lies, cheats, wrecks your finances, family relationships, etc, they are never going to change. This is not something that they have no control over, it's deliberate.

(BPD people can progress if they actually get a diagnosis and intensive therapy and have insight, but there's no question many of them wreck lives. I am sorry if you are a person suffering from BPD and I do wish for healing for you, it's very difficult, but people do have the right to protect themselves from destructive behaviour, and people have the right to say no to having someone with BPD in their lives who have hurt them irreparably and refuse to get help).

Something I've noticed is that when South Asian people refer to someone by their first and last name, they always say Smith, John, instead of John Smith.

I'm not sure, but the neighbours hand raised a starling who then decided we were his best friend, and I've never seen such a personality in a bird. He would yell through the kitchen window for me to come get him and take him for a drive around the block. He loved the car, came for walks with me and my dogs sitting atop my head and rooting through my hair, teased my dog by sitting just out of his reach and squawking at him as a joke, and it was SO amazing, but you could actually pick his specific voice out among all the many chirping birds when he was chirping at us to come outside and pay attention to him and feed him, I had no idea wild birds could be so very funny and demanding. He's still alive five years later and summons the neighbour to come outside and give him mealworms by yelling through the window.
