My coworker loves Trump loudly and obnoxiously. But she's mad about the tariffs and votes for the NDP here, but says he's "doing good things for his country", but can't identify what. She doesn't know anything about weaponized disinformation, Russian troll farms, or dark money, and I very gently explained these things to her today, and saw this dim light turning on behind her eyes. So many people don't know how badly they've been suckered by weaponized disinformation and dark money.

Who gives a damn about the deficit. When did that ever really matter?

I am way more lefty than the Liberals but I have no problem holding my nose and voting for them, same as 2015. Jagmeet has been fairly disappointing as a leader, which is unfortunate but it's time to move on for the party.

I also don't want to not support American artists. Not people who can basically wipe their ass on money like Beyonce, but indie musicians and visual artists and so on. Art should not be punished by this. Unless they voted for Trump, in which case fuck them.

He's really not though, and neither is Trump. They're the face of their parties, but being the PC leader was just another way for Doug the drug dealer to get elected somewhere else after his brother made such a hot mess of municipal politics. He's a brand. He bends any way the winds of popularity blow him. Probably many of the dyed in the wool conservatives of his party don't like it, but the ones who want a job will hold their nose and go along.

My (Canadian) coworker is a giant Trump lover. Weirdly she votes NDP here and hates all the conservatives at every level. I don't bother fighting her because there's no sense in trying, but I asked her politely during the first batch of his Canada nonsense what she thought of what he was doing regarding us, and she has the nerve to tell me she "didn't want to talk politics, but he's doing good things for his own country". How? He's doing nothing but alienating everyone, claiming it's because of fentanyl at our borders. Less than 1 percent of the fentanyl that crossed the border came from us. They could literally end up in the dark, and Doug Ford the drug dealer says he'll cut their power off with a smile on his face, and considering the wave of popularity being anti Trump gave him I don't rule it out altogether.
