  • All of these outcomes leave civil rights attorney Amanda Yarusso “baffled” as to why the city has continued to pursue pending cases

If they know they can't win and they are pursuing the cases anyway, then the suits themselves are punishment. These people are likely having to pay for legal representation, they anr losing time at work, some could even lose their jobs over the lost time.

  • Kushner did a lot worse than lying to the FEC and tax evasion. Charles Kushner was pardoned by Trump for those back in 2020 but he admitted to a lot worse during the plea deal. This guy is absolute scum.

Real estate developer and political contributor Charles Kushner was sentenced today to 24 months in prison for his pleas of guilty to assisting in the filing of false tax returns, retaliating against a cooperating witness and making false statements to the Federal Election Commission, U.S. Attorney Christopher J. Christie announced.

    ...

Kushner further admitted at his plea hearing that he devised a scheme to retaliate against a cooperating witness - his sister - and her husband by having a prostitute seduce the husband and covertly filming them having sex. Kushner admitted that he paid a private investigator $25,000 to arrange for the seduction and videotaping of the cooperating witness' husband. Kushner admitted to personally recruiting the prostitute and instructing that the videotape be mailed to the cooperating witness.

  • The idea that actors are required to be hired is kind of nonsense.

They aren't required to hire actors, but in this case they had a contractual agreement with the union to negotiate before doing this.

Also, the logical conclusion to this trend is to do away with all actors since sooner or later, AI will just be able to create characters out of thin air and then why pay anybody? I'd personally rather there be some restrictions on it.

  • A little more than that, actually.

The company says Llama Productions chose to replace human performers' work with AI technology but did so “without providing any notice of their intent to do this and without bargaining with us over appropriate terms.” As such, SAG-AFTRA has filed an unfair labor practice complaint against the company with the NLRB.

  • Are you talking about a commercial truck or you personal vehicle? If it's a truck you drive as your job, you're probably screwed. I'd be pissed as hell, but I don't imagine there's much you can do other than quit. If it's your private vehicle, let me know the company selling it so I never buy one of their vehicles.

  • And the poll found 85 percent of Americans believe that if the Supreme Court rules against the Trump administration on a policy or executive action, the Trump administration should follow the court’s ruling.

So 15% want Trump to go full dictator and just ignore the Supreme Court and do whatever he wants? I wish I could say I was surprised.

  • They lied about the mental capacity of someone that could start a nuclear war...

Oh my God! Biden might fall asleep and rest his head on the big red button and start World War III! Thank God we now have a very stable genius who will start a nuclear war just because he thinks it will make him look tough.
