  • Throwing rocks, starting fires, and initiating violence? I'd say there's a much better than 50% chance that this is someone who came to instigate violence rather that support the protest. If he's ever arrested, I'd bet money that he turns out to have a pardon from Trump in his history or a ProudBoy tat or both.

  • “You have people hiding their faces behind scarves and keffiyehs like they’re in ISIS, storming libraries, vandalizing buildings and literally – I’m not exaggerating – terrorizing their classmates,” he said.

Wait... is he talking about the protesters or ICE here? Because it really sounds more like ICE to me.

  • They'll find some low level election official to blame it on charge them with election fraud. Maybe they'll do time or maybe they'll be pardoned. It will not likely have any effect on the 2024 election results because it's unlikely that there would be enough Harris votes found to change the state and thus the national results, and this district is all the trial will be looking at.

  • Someone cropped this to a vertical aspect. Here is the uncropped version that someone posted in another thread. You can see the cop much earlier in the video. He's just looking around and suddenly decides to raise his weapon and shoot her.

  • Dear gods... he can't build it either way. It is simply not possible with current technology. Israel's Iron Dome system only needs to protect an area the size of New Jersey against much lower tech rockets and projectiles. Trump's plan, and I use the term loosely, would cost anywhere from half a trillion dollars to $2.5 trillion and will not be effective.

This is just a grift that will let him pour those trillions of dollars into the pockets of his rich buddies, who will no doubt need to pay him in advance for the contracts.

  • Okay. Dude is badass. I am honestly a bit impressed at his bravado. But folks need to take those "less-than-lethal" munitions seriously. Those cops/ICE terrorists can and do aim for vitals with that shit. You can be blinded, crippled, or even neutered by them. And that's just the rubber bullets.

  • For those doubting me and down-voting.

Salmonella can get inside eggs too. This happens while the egg is forming inside the chicken before the egg makes a shell. Today, a lot fewer egg-laying hens have this problem than during the 1980s and 1990s, so eggs are safer. But some eggs are still contaminated with Salmonella.

  • The goal of alchemy was to change one element to another. Specifically, most of them wanted to turn lead into gold for obvious reasons. Chemistry evolved out of those attempts but never succeeded so I would say, no, chemistry is not alchemy.

On the other hand, we have now successfully turned lead into gold, so alchemy has been achieved via high-energy physics and quantum mechanics. But the cost to do so is so high, and the quantities involved are so low, it will never be a profitable venture. Plus the gold atoms only lasted a fraction of a second before they shattered into other particles.

  • Wash the eggs. Wash your hands. Wash any surfaces that uncooked food comes in contact with. Cook your eggs properly (until whites and yolks are firm). For egg dishes like frittatas, you should cook them to an internal temperature of 160 degrees Fahrenheit. The real risk from salmonella is from foods that you eat raw like lettuce and tomatoes, etc.

“August Egg Company is not selling fresh shell eggs at this time. Our firm has voluntarily been diverting eggs to an egg-breaking plant for over 30 days, which pasteurizes the eggs and kills any potential foodborne pathogens,”

Pasteurize means heating the food to a high enough temperature for a long enough time to kill the germs. These tainted eggs are now being broken open and sterilized and sold to companies that will turn them into other products you buy. Next time you buy a breakfast sandwich at a fast food joint, or a container of egg-whites at the grocery store, it could very well be from this batch of eggs.

  • It's still a good idea to refrigerate them. It is possible, if unlikely, that salmonella can get inside the shell from the mother before the egg is laid. Keeping the eggs below 40 degrees Fahrenheit will keep the germs from growing inside during storage.

  • It still is, and I think it's universal for the English speaking parts of the world.

The result of addition is the sum.

The result of subtraction is the difference.

The result of multiplication is the product.

The result of division is the quotient.

  • “As the government of the United States of America is not in any sense founded on the Christian Religion, as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religious or tranquility of Musselmen [Muslim peoples], and as the said States never have entered into any war or act of hostility against any Mehomitan [Muslim] nation, it is declared by the parties that no pretext arising from religious opinions shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries.” - Treaty of Tripoli, signed 1797.

  • Honestly, voting for Trump violated their oath to defend the constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. As you say, he staged an insurrection. He tried to overthrow the peaceful transfer of power and overturn the results of a legitimate election. No matter what Trump's pet SCOTUS says, we all saw it on television. He is a domestic enemy.

  • Can someone explain how this would work? When I work a job and they withhold money from my check, they then pay that withheld money along with the matching taxes paid by the business directly to the federal government, don't they? Would the state just order the businesses to send the money to them instead? If my tax dollars don't get sent to the fed, wouldn't the IRS still come after me to pay them?

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for it. I just don't understand the mechanics of how it would work.
