If it's a credit card then you should have pretty decent protection against fraud from the credit card company. I've had my card details stolen a few times (though never directly from my browser) and each time the credit card company has identified the fraud and reached out to me within minutes.

Now if it's a debit card, you should NEVER put those numbers into a computer. I only ever use my debit card to access the ATM, and even that is rare.

And that's also why it was designed to need their servers to authenticate against: because they could charge Microsoft more if their product could be switched off remotely. They likely built the product with the aim of getting bought up. Who wants to run a company for 40 years when you can just skim a few million off of Microsoft and retire?

That's the story of Fossil: great looking watches, that are subpar quality. I've owned 4 Fossil watches over the past 30+ years and I've regretted each one. The last was the Carlisle smartwatch, and that will be my last a Fossil.

"If they meet specs" is the important thing, and unfortunately that's hard to know, though that $0.99 cable at the gas station isn't going to cut it.

This is nice and all, but couldn't they instead make an arbitrary UI change to the camera app again? I'm almost to the point where I'm using that app with muscle memory again.

Same, I had the Carlisle and it was a worthless piece of trash. It was painfully slow, and it would vibrate with a notification, but then there wouldn't be any notification to be found. I eventually just stopped wearing it and figured I'd wait for the Pixel Watch to be released, but even then, knowing how horrible Google's first attempts at hardware usually goes, I still waited an extra year for the Pixel Watch 2. So far I've been happy with it, and I'll never buy another Fossil watch again.

I've had 4 Fossil watches over the past 30 years and they've all turned out to be garbage. Beautiful garbage.

Edit: I can't believe I forgot Baskets. That show is a masterpiece.

There are a few shows I'd rate higher: Breaking Bad (although it had it's share of 'throw away' episodes), Reservation Dogs, Battlestar Galactica (so many throw away episodes), The Newsroom, and Deadwood. I think Deadwood would be my highest ranking, especially for writing and acting.

Obviously I'm sure plenty of examples can be given for why Six Feet Under is better than each of the shows I've listed, but that's the beauty of subjective lists!

My wife and I just finished the finale tonight, and it was a great ending. Very little ambiguity, real closure, and an emotionally appropriate song.

But, I think it is far from "the best TV show". It may have been "the best" for a TV drama when it came out because it was groundbreaking, but the acting and writing at times could be pretty bad (so many dropped plots with no follow-up or consequences). It also went on for far too long, which was a consequence of having to create 12 episodes per season, each the same length.

It's worth watching, but I'd give it a 7.8/10.
