@itsmect mentioned this too but it is wild how this community just hates cryptpo. There's a good chance the instance you're on accepts it for donations. Why would they do that if it is so unusable and bad? Open source everything except the money. Makes no sense.

A view only wallet doesn't trace anything that doesn't get received directly by that view only wallet. If we had two wallets that didn't interact with that wallet, it couldn't do shit to trace or audit my transactions.

You can use Coinbase or another similar intermediary to convert it to fiat instantly by using the card that comes with those services but still converting it to fiat isn't quite the same as using DOGE coin or the like to buy groceries and I do hear you on that. However , man personally I have made thousands off of crypto. I do like some projects for their utility like Monero and Litecoin but a large percentage of so called "alt" coins and stuff like that don't have any real utility beyond pumping so that's true and I feel like a lot of what makes crypto seem like a waste of time to people. But certain coins have real inherent value and use cases that are beyond what people like me and you probably need. Those use cases are still important to the people who need them though. El Salvador is a good example everyone shit all over that dude for doing mass adoption of bitcoinand for ainute there it did seem like a rough idea but it worked out. I guess that's the thing though everyone who has been in it from the beginning its because it keeps working out. Otherwise, everyone would be out of it and venture capitalist companies wouldn't be buying in the billions. I mean, would you listen to people of they told you something you were up like 700% on was a bad investment?

However it says that any info obtained by any regulatory body can be shared with law enforcement of any kind and they don't have to tell you that's how they obtained the information.

Is editing the DNS settings enough or do I need to edit the Netmask and Gateway that were provided by the ISP as well? Also in order for me to change the DNS settings I had to set up a static IP address, is this still a private setup?

I did hardwire it to the modem and it's been awesome once I figured out what I was doing lol thank you so much for all of your help! Someone else mentioned changing the DNS settings is important for privacy, would you recommend to edit the Netmask and Gateway as well (I'm just using the same ones the ISP gave me in DHCP) or is changing the DNS enough?

Would using something like a Glinet Beryl travel router increase privacy in this scenario if you just used WiFi repeater mode and only connected to that router or would your cable provided router still be able to decrypt all of your traffic due to being unable to change their DNS settings? To be honest I know very little about networking I just want to increase my privacy to the fullest extent possible

So you just have to buy an openWRT router and it would stop it automatically or is this something you would have to be knowledgeable about how it looks in a system log to block it? Also, do you have to have some sort of custom modem as well or just the router being openwrt is enough?
