  • It truly is disgusting. I always take a full week to sit down and carefully research everyone and everything I'm voting for. I sit down for a few hours each night with my ballot and do a couple sections until it's done. But unfortunately, most people are not as diligent as I am nor do they care about local politics. I don't even consider myself to be a political person, but at least I do my civic duty. That seems to be lost in the American people.

  • It's just the British museum all over again.

  • I've experienced this to a similar degree. Most of my family are small town people and I grew up without money in a small town. I moved to Chicago where I've been relatively successful and want to share some of the experiences I've had with the people I love. But I think the best test of whether or not I can actually include someone in certain activities is how they show up to a funeral. The reason that this is a good test is because you can tell who put in even a smidgen of effort to try to look nice and be respectful and who didn't. And having grown up without a lot of money, I can tell you right now that it doesn't cost much to go to the thrift store to get something that looks even a little bit nice even if it's not standard. The last funeral I went to, you could immediately tell which family members didn't try at all and just showed up in sweat pants and tshirts. Those are the people I wouldn't take to certain places. Id maybe take them to touristy places, but that's about it.

  • If they nab children of immigrants, their parents will have to show up to get them. Then they can boot the whole family out of the country. Disgusting? Yes.

  • CPS has a very hard headed teachers union that people often complain about. But in times like this, it's exactly what's needed. I can't imagine the for profit "Disney II" charter school up the street to have the same approach 🙄

  • I think what you're referring to is Plan B medication which is only useful for the first 120 hours after sex and doesn't require a prescription. mifepristone and misoprostol require a prescription which you can get through these sites and they are usable up to 13 weeks of gestation. You likely can still get it at any pharmacy in a legal state. But ordering online not only allows for easy access to prescription, but also circumvents laws preventing sale in particular states. And yes that means you could potentially be prosecuted if caught, but people should still know their options. I for one would rather live through a miscarriage and do time than to die under legal means.

  • According to both websites I bought from, the shelf life is 2 years.

For anyone that needs this information, you can (currently) order abortion medicine (mifepristone and misoprostol) online in any state. I did it a few days ago and it was stupid easy to do. I'm not pregnant, but I wanted to order some as a just-in-case for myself or others.

The Plan C website has a great list of websites you can order from if you're not pregnant. It costs about $150 and some offer financial assistance if you need it. But please do it NOW while you still can.

I ordered one from Aid access and one from safe choice. Both asked a few questions that didn't ask for personal information or ID. They mostly just need an email, address to send it, and a credit/debit card to pay.

    Good luck out there everyone.

  • Lol can someone tip them off to Elon Musk please? I'm pretty sure he's an "illegal immigrant criminal".

  • Plan B (what I assume you ordered, but I could be wrong) does not require a prescription and is limited in use up to 120 hours after sex. mifepristone and misoprostol require a prescription (given on these websites) and are usable up to 13 weeks of gestation. I have not found these on Amazon, but perhaps they are available on Amazon in other states?

  • As someone who works for a major healthcare company - they hire doctors so they can claim to have legitimacy in denying claims. If their doctors say that something is "unnecessary" or there is an alternative, it's better for legal purposes than just any old person saying it. Even though we all know those doctors aren't the ones in charge and are most likely pushed by the people above to make certain decisions.

  • I used to think this was true while working for a B2B company as a graphic designer. Everything just seemed pointless like I wasn't contributing anything meaningful to the world. But I do think that art in its many forms contributes meaningfully to culture in general and can also be quite powerful when used well. History of graphic design shows just how influential designs were in Nazi Germany and how similar techniques are still used today. Then there is the matter of UI design and how it's increasingly become essential today. While most applications it's fine to have a frustrating piece of garbage, UI is rather important for things like medical systems, car displays, and other areas where getting it wrong could mean life or death. Unfortunately my job is still pretty useless to society regardless of these points made. I'll go back to my corner now.

  • JD Vance only eats the cat food part of lucky charms pass it on

  • According to multiple sites, both pills in the prescription have a 2 year shelf life if kept in a cool dry place.

Edit: just to clarify I'm not talking about plan B. I'm talking about medication meant to induce an abortion at up to 13 weeks of gestation. mifepristone and misoprostol specifically.

  • I used slack for about 4 years and it was the best. Had everything you could ever want for that sort of thing. As a graphic designer, I took pride in creating hilarious representations of my team mates as emojis for all to share. Then I changed jobs and started using Teams. It's like... Why even bother? Let's just go back to physical letters and phone calls while we're at it. Except, that would be more reliable.
