Absolutely true, everything is a conspiracy theory and the most convoluted version of events you can come up with to make it fit your preconceived notions is always correct.

In Minecraft's case, you never needed the email address beyond initial registration. Login was always through username and password, which I still have. Had I actually forgotten my credentials, that would've been fair, but I didn't. They just suddenly decided that that wasn't enough and they now want some ancient email address that little me had typed in once over ten years ago.

Anyone without access to their old email also loses their account. I don't remember which email address I used with my account back in the day (it's at least ten years old), and since I bought my key from a reseller, I don't have a receipt. Microsofts response was basically "not our problem, guess you'll have to pay us again ¯(ツ)/¯"

Sleep-deprived 20 year olds calling shots is very much normal in any army. They of course have rules of engagement, but other than that, they're free to make their own decisions - whether an autonomous robot is involved or not.

Definitely agree that Kotlin is so much better than Java + Lombok, but it'll take a lot of time for all the existing Java projects or migrate to Kotlin or reach EOL. In the meantime, it's hard to avoid the occasional Java project...

Lombok will shrink the 200 lines of getters and setters to one or two. It has its own pitfalls of course, but IMO it's definitely worth it.

That proves nothing, it might equally be in China's geopolitical interest to support discontent and protests in the West. A more interesting question is if TikTok would promote content about the Uyghur genocide the same way.
