I don't agree with too big to fail.
Yes it caused a lot of trouble already and they are dragging us (EU) down with them.
Or better they're sacrificing us for their benefit.

Also important is the US came in royally late (as in WW1) after the battle of Stalingrad that decided on the eventual winner.
